16. Coming from a white person in England, can someone please explain this to me? I quote MLK all the time and I'm very passionate about the history and current struggle of civil rights across all races. I've recently become entranced with the inhumane history and nature of Jim Crow – I have and continue to confront anyone who speaks ill of African-Americans. I champion all equality, and as a human-being I believe I have every right to comment – MLK is hero of mine – is it frowned upon in the states to have a white person comment on such issues? That's sounds stupid but I'm confused. I will be visiting New York City soon in my first ever trip to America, is it not wise to talk to African-Americans about the civil rights movement, of course I won't talk to some random guy – it would have to be in the correct environment. Just wondering.
