I’m not going to be one of those people who is all triggered when a white person says it but cool with a black person saying it. I see it as an insult because In my upbringing/culture this word is used to mean tangled, unkempt hair that doesn’t have to be kinky to be called nappy. it’s not far fetched to me that the girl didn’t know it has racial undertones because I have heard white and other non-black people use nappy to describe their own hair and each other’s hair. Iyanla told that white German lady on NATIONAL TELEVISION that black people have “nappy” hair and many black people defended her saying that. I said then people are saying they aren’t offended by nappy but I said as soon as a white person calls a black woman’s hair nappy then people are going to be mad. Sure enough. How hypocritical
