All I know is that I grew up in an era where every school did paddlings and everybody got their ass whupped at home when they did wrong by their parents and the parents in the neighborhood and my era never disrespected or beat up elders, kick 7 year olds in the back and steal their bikes, we didn't shoot and kill their parents, fight teachers, curse teachers put for laughs, we didn't beat up girls after they turned us down and slash their face with a razor, all those ass whuppings we got taught not to do any of that stuff or else, now that this system has that illegal, these kids today are wildly insane and doing things my era never would've thought of doing abd doing it regularly, smh

18. This is a W, the world is too soft with how kids are these days. None of them know the meaning of 'respect' your elders. I was paddled as a child and turned out fine with no trauma. The smart children will learn quick!

20. I think people are overreacting about the possible consequences. I’m sure people can agree that children these days don’t respect elders, authority and least of all teachers. With all the cameras these days, compared to 0 for previous generations, it will be hard for teachers to get away with actual abuse. The visual of a teacher beating a kid going viral will keep every teacher in check. So when you see it you will think “that kid must’ve really deserved it”.

23. I received a spanking in elementary school by my principal with my parents permission..this was in the early 90s lol..kids are bad ass hell these days..however I could see a future lawsuit in the future

29. I was expelled and put in special Ed because I fought back nobody but my parents whooped me ask the APS school department they have proof I even bit a woman's finger off in 5th grade don't ever touch me.

30. Meh, this is a bunch of nothing. I've been hit by several teachers as a form of punishment before and honestly school was more fun with that element in it. Soo doesn't really bother me, as long as they not lining kids up and having mass discipline sessions which would definitely not fly here, this is nothing.

31. As an 80s baby, I can tell you that corporal punishment was long gone by the time I started school. Shit, the parents would kill you if the kids didn't if you put that paddle to work lol

32. Am from STL, mo and I was wondering if this was in STL, Columbia, or kc. The only cities in Missouri that are metropolitan cities and not rural missouri. Rural areas be on other shit
