We didn’t necessarily pick up the news paper or watch the news back then but now the internet/social media is such an echo chamber for bad news that there’s almost no way to avoid consuming it 24/7. Bad things happen everyday all over the world and hearing about all of it doesn’t seem to be making anything better. At least the news covered things in your particular city but now on the daily we can hear about and see unfortunate events happening on the other side of the globe. All these platforms thrive off of negative press, how bout we in the civilian sector focus more on the positive and let the appropriate, delegated people handle the bad stuff
