4. Wtf? They actually contradicted themselves. They said they want students to keep their hair neat and tidy. How do they expect black students to keep their hair neat and tidy if they can’t do their hair in ways that keep it neat and tidy? 🤔

   If my daughter ever came home from school saying that shit, id march my white ass up there and defend her. And I’d make sure to keep sending her to school with her hair however she wants it. I personally know nothing about black culture and hair. I am a white lady with a mixed child. But I will say that I understand how important it is for people to be able to express their culture in whatever way they feel necessary. If my child wanted twists or braids, your damn right I am gonna let her do it and I’m gonna teach her how to be proud of it. Just because I didn’t grow up with braids and twists, and don’t fully understand the culture, doesn’t mean I am going to deny my child that right. And it’s my job to educate myself to help my child feel more confident as a mixed race child. I feel like all these teachers and white people that are refusing to educate themselves are taking something from black and mixed students. They’re purposely being arrogant towards a culture forcing them to suppress how they express their culture. This also causes them to shy away from other white people that actually want to support the black community. It also causes other white people to think that they do not have to educate themselves about other cultures. That it’s okay to be ignorant and tell them that they have to change.

5. Actually my school did the same thing . The reason is because my school was transitioning to a more professional environment. They said that the hairstyles was professional. Be honest would you go to a job interview with hair cornrows ?

Please have a up date on this, I'm from Andalusia,AL and they have a similar dress code in-place saying that cornrows is gang affiliated and is banded from the school, another similar incident went down in a town called OPP, Alabama where the student was suspended for having dreadlocks this done by the principal at the time but it since it was corrected

19. They tried my old school like that before. "No white tshirts" they said. So guess what, next day everyone wore a white t. Try suspending an entire school.

24. By "Unnatural hair color they mean black people with hair color other THAN black. A place I used to work warned me about my red hair and called it unnatural meanwhile there was a white girl with neon blue hair who wore it year round. According to them basically POC didn't do things like that and it drew attention. Trust and believe my point was made in the end because within the next year my hair was red, blonde, brown and blue lol. And there was nothing they could about it.

28. Guys, America needs to strengthen its pimp hand. Such things are not necessary. This needs to stop. The segregation is too institutionalized. This is just so unbelievable……. Some African public schools have this rule, for dreadlocks only. But that doesn't matter much because the racial bias is different here. You take that to the US and you are creating a problem. Don't tell me the school didn't know. For all I care, they want black parents to overreact and take the kids to other schools (win win). I say leave your kids there. Force them to change rules and make them apologize.
