BREAKING NEWS: We Found Dedrick Smith Underwater – Missing Since 10/03/2006

April 01, 2022, AWP began our search for 26-year-old Dedrick Smith who was last seen in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on October 3, 2006, and by late afternoon, the Adventures With Purpose team located Dedrick’s car in just 14′ of water.

The next morning, April 2nd, AWP working alongside local law enforcement, Dedrick’s car containing human remains, was recovered.

Dedrick was last seen at his girlfriend’s home when she went out in the middle of the night to get food, and when she returned he was gone.

He changed his shirt and left his girlfriend’s house on Booker Street, driving his bright blue/turquoise 1993 Pontiac Grand Am with the North Carolina license plate number NYB3645, which had never been spotted again, until today, April 1st, 2022. (This is not an April Fools Joke)

There were reported sightings of him in the local area after his disappearance, but none of these were confirmed. His vehicle, which contained several extra changes of clothes, was never located.

Smith maintained daily contact with his loved ones prior to his disappearance, and he had promised his mother he’d visit her house on October 4, but none of his family and friends have heard from him since he went missing.

At this moment we want to take a moment to express our sympathies to Dedrick’s family as they navigate this tragic outcome to a nightmare that has lasted 15 years.

We are honored to be in this position to help families and it is because of you, our supporters, that this is possible.

Take the time today to hug your loved ones a little tighter and cherish the moments you have.

An edited episode of our searching for Dedrick and this case will be released in a few weeks as well as our podcast investigation episode.

A full autopsy will need to be conducted before confirmation can be made that Dedrick has been brought home.

The AWP Movement would not be possible without your support, helping us travel the US and offering our services for FREE to families searching for their lost loved ones… Thank you!

  1. I’ve tried to find anyone I see working with y’all in videos so that I can subscribe and help. I want some gear, too. But, I can’t find the window breakers on your website. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Help! Are y’all out of stock? Love y’all! So much!

  2. I watch you guys from U.K, the work you do is absolutely amazing, your empathy and professionalism is awesome, thank you for risking your own safety to help locate missing loved ones and bring them home such selfless acts of love, bless you all ❤️

  3. This is in my hometown. I was a couple years ahead but I also went to high school with Dedrick.Thank you for finding him. Hoping he and his family are more at peace now.

  4. I feel like if you would have asked the construction workers who had the no water access posting and you told them what you were doing they would have carried your boat for you. they would have helped there's no doubt in my mind. well at least me and my guys would have and we our Construction workers. maybe not I don't know.

  5. Hello AWP I'm not sure if you have a name for your pod cast, but I have a name in mind." The Sustained Calling". Maybe it will help. I truly believe what you guys do is extraordinary.

  6. That poor young guy, so sad that he died so horribly and at such a very young age…Just really sad all the way around … I know the family must have some relief knowing that he`s been found but my heart goes out to them .

  7. I'm just going through YouTube and saw this… I'm very elated and feel much sorrow for his family and love ones that they now know their loved one fate…
God bless the family and you are so awesome… This young man could possibly be related as he looks like my great great Aunt and her Husband…
    God bless you all…

  8. A suggestions; if there is a dog in the family that was close to the missing person . Take the dog to the various sites to help search. especially if the dog was with the person at the time of the situation. Dogs even untrained dogs are special and you should use every tool you have. I got this idea from the dog that stayed by the river for 3 days after the person was lost. If he hadn't died before you arrived, I bet he could have almost pointed to the site you should have first looked.

  9. Good job guys I wouldn't expect anything less from you guys 16 years down there is a long time I'm sure his family will be happy may he rest in peace and thank you guys very much Bruce Towner from Massachusetts

  12. You guys aren’t finding bodies. You are finding missing people. Missing sons, daughters, motets, fathers, grandparents, uncles, aunts. Please don’t call them bodies, call them who they are. Please express this to Mike at Profiling Evil as well.
