Will Trump’s Instincts Win Him a Second Term?

This week Trump officially announced his bid for re-election, and gave his assessment of the Democratic candidates. Are his instincts right, or is he just the right mascot for a larger movement?

  1. After President Trump's impressive team of lawyers, supplemented by Trey Gowdy in January 2020, get finished investigating arrogant Obama administration non-lawyers like James Clapper and John Brennan it will be easy for Trump to win a second term.

  2. Please, get Marianne Williamson on to talk about this extremely important point. She has the deepest perspective and understanding about how we got here as a people, and exactly what needs to happen in order to mobilize the people to VOTE who didn't before to beat Trump, and begin to transform our whole mind-set that has brought us to this dangerous precipice we are on. For example watch: https://www.marianne2020.com/posts/marianne-williamson-4th-of-july-address

  3. The idea of democracy is predicated on reason, the innately rational capacity of people to decide lucidly in favor of their own interests. It's no accident that modern democracy is an outcome of the Enlightenment. In a democracy political candidates are supposed to reason with the electorate and convince them of the practical efficaciousness of their platform. But what has happened in the case of Trump is that he has exploited the crisis of rational dialogue between politicians and the people and has replaced it with personal charisma. Now all successful politicians have a certain charisma but it is kept within limits, as an aid or adjunct to the rational dialogue they presumably maintain with the public. Trump has surpassed a threshold and his charisma has become in effect his ENTIRE message. His open, shameless contempt for rational discourse and the bold-faced pride he takes in his own demented, incoherent speech are what in fact puts him in demonic harmony with his base. In this he is profoundly anti-democratic and occupies the ante-room of fascism. The philosopher-sociologist Max Weber analysed this phenomenon of the charismatic, anti-democratic leader a hundred years ago, and political commentators would do well to apply his analysis to the current situation. It can happen here. It's fair to say that it's already happening.

  4. so to confront white supremacy this host always calls on the black guest first and last. anyone else notice that? she is consistent about it. probably makes me a deplorable for noticing

  5. Trump can defeated only by a defeat of all regimes aligned with Trump. Israel, Brazil, etc.
Its going to be a while when that happens and when it does the domino effect will not apply.
Otherwise I don't see him going.

  6. You can ignore Trump. The Democratic Party leadership will decide if he should get another four years. Were Sanders win the nomination we'll likely see that same leadership helping Trump win in the background to make sure their wealth donors don't have to give up anything. Watch Donny Deutsch on Morning Joe for proof they prefer Trump to Sanders.

  7. Joe Biden is never going to be able to enthuse the progressive youth vote, Mark Steiner, are you insane? They'll turn out for Bernie Sanders, they'll turn out for Tulsi Gabbard, and they'd turn out for Mike Gravel, and that's the only people who could get them fired up. How is that not obvious? You think the young people inspired by AOC are going to be chanting Bi-den Bi-den, as if it was Jeremy Corbyn? You're deluding yourself and no-one else.

  8. Relatively unknown Trump, he needed at least $4 billion of free mainstream media coverage plus $2 billion cash to win the White House. Over $6 billion from the rich and that is exactly what he received. Also, as the 50% working poor never vote, Trump needed to be elected by the voting majority, namely the 25% most wealthy. And so paid actor Trump has sold all of his decision making powers to the highest bidder.

  9. No Trump's instincts are not worth a bucket full of warm spit. What will win him the election, is the idiotic ideas the Democrats keep coming up with. American's appetite for their ridiculous ideas has run out. Their latest idea, the Green New Deal, where we all give up transportation and roller skate to work, assuming we can keep a job, is the last nail in their coffin. In CA we are currently going broke because of their high speed rail idea, which turned into a bunch of disconnected sections of rail that can't be connected because they didn't acquire the land, and is costing us 10's of Billions of dollars. And the Democrats idea to save that fiasco? Raise taxes. So people are moving the hell out of CA. Americans can't afford the Democrat's idiotic ideas anymore. That's why Trump will win.

  10. Trump also got $2 Billion worth of free marketing time from our corrupted major news corporations. CNN, MSNBC, FOX etc. etc.

  11. Not his instincts that made him POTUS, but not a series of unfortunate events either. He was put there by the same oligarchs who own the MSM (& Time Mag) that serve you the false narratives. Along the way of the pied piper strategy, they came to realize that they would be better served by The Great Distractor, then by a candidate coming in with so much baggage that she would have to make concessions to an ever growing socially militant base. Trump was no accident.

  12. If trump wins his second term it will be entirely the fault of the DNC,and the fact that the DNC would rather have 4 more years of Mango Mussolini than any progressive candidate. Blue no matter who? Right, then give Bernie the nomination and all the "blue no matter who's" can fall in line behind him. Push Biden and watch Biden lose,100% guaranteed.

  13. I think defo Trump will be re-elected due to how weak and corrupt the democrats are. Warren is weak and Biden wants more of the same. The any candidates who could defeat Trump are Bernie Tulsi Nina.

  14. Bernie & Warren 2020 !!! … Mayor Pete for Sect'y of State !!! … AOC for Ambassador to UN /&,or ISRAEL !!!

  15. It's not always about Left – Right, but it's about the Deep State vs. the anti-Imperialists. I admire Trump for resisting
those like Haspel, Pompeo, and Bolton to make a missile strike upon Iran. That took great character and integrity.
Obama did not have such character, except he did accept Syria forfeiting its CW's. Obama did not act in anything
as noble as Trump has in not going to war against N Korea, Venezuela, and thus far Iran. Obama pursued the utter

destruction of the Libyan state while murdering a head of state in gruesome manner, which Hillary laughed at while
paraphrasing Shakespeare. [That was the moment she lost the election.] Obama fomented the asinine coup in Kiev,
which was a disaster for the Ukrainian people. The problem with US, is what Ortega y Gasset called the "mass man."
Where being common and anti-intellectual is celebrated; entertainment and celebrity vicarious, the State and barbarism.
