I like the idea of space force. I don't know exactly what it entails seeing as Trump hasn't released anything yet, but from what I see it seems a good idea. Also, the space force could be used to defend satellites from being shot down. Most of your examples come from the 70s or 80s and technology has exponentially increased. I'm pretty sure nuclear winter requires enormous amounts of nukes. If you were aiming at a major country how many nukes would you really need? They only have a few important cities.
