On Sunday, January 22, 2023, at approximately 5:30 pm, an auto vs. pedestrian fatal crash occurred at 600 Oregon Ave, resulting in the fatality of the pedestrian. A 43-year-old female (pedestrian) was walking across Oregon Avenue walking from the south side to the north side, when Unit #1 (Unknown silver SUV) traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed struck the pedestrian then left the area and was last seen traveling eastbound on Oregon Avenue. The pedestrian was pronounced at the scene by responding Medic personnel. She was later identified as Savon So from the 27XX block of Randolph Street. The scene was held, no arrest at this time. This investigation is active and ongoing with the Crash Investigation Division.
