  2. It just never gets better. These assholes act like criminals so yes they should be recorded. That officers behavior towards your asking his hname is childish. It's behavior like this that demands that the public record them at every turn and force accountability on these people with badges and guns. An overhaul of the nation's entire police force is just the tip of this iceberg. However, the public's idea of how law and law enforcement should conduct themselves and deal with the public is a far cry from the militarized police state that is being put in place to get before our eyes. Uhg! We have another road ahead of us and do do future generations. Thanks for what you do Laura.

  8. there is no policy that states that an officer must give his name to a member of the press. An officer must only identify him/herself to a citizen whom with the officer has made contact.

I hope when you were bothered to go down there and find out who he was, you filed a complaint for failing to follow procedure… this is the same reason I tell folks to file complaints every time an officer arrives to talk to them and fails to introduce himself properly following their procedure books… "Hello I am (rank) (name) of the (department) and the reason I am contacting you (reason)"… until EVERY encounter begins this way, file a complaint until they learn not to try the "how you doing" crap… I don't want the officers to try and be my buddy to get information, I want them to act like the six figure officers we're paying for…

  17. They should have a month's salary stopped when they don't follow their own policys and cause the community to track them down at the police station. The cop with no name is a complete WANKER!

  18. I wonder Why? Laura next time please ask him the total amount of complaints against him. Also if he was ever been made to take a paid vacation. I think they call it a paid administrative leave. Oh isn't it the policy there they must id themselves when asked? I wonder why he would not give his name.

  19. Cowards with badges. I wonder how they would fare if someone chucked a "cocktail" into their vehicle as it drove by? Do you think that their uniforms are fireproof? I think the PD's should plan for that "in this day & age".

    I say keep going
    Put them on the defense of their actions.
    In the flashback video I want to ask:
    Do you intend on using intimidation of force to get me to give up my 1st amendment right to report on the actions and behaviors of the police while on duty? And what about my due process right to collect evidence of crimes committed against my person as they occur?
    Do you believe me to not have these rights?
    Are you claiming that I am disabled? What, I don't get to express all my rights because of lack of knowledge of every law or police policy that you can use to intimidate and threaten force with?…
    With that I'd invoke ADA rights: If they give the impression that they think you are in any way not their equal, or diminished capacity and subject to their laws…. go with it and remind them of laws they have broken in even talking to you, you are not part of the scene.
    If that's the case, invoke ADA and see how far you can take it
    Advise of no qualified immunity for the officials.

    If in Ca… I recently came upon this §422.6 which in turn refers to §422.55…. all of which refer to "No person, whether or not acting under color of law, shall by force or threat of force,"
    We have the power… we have weapons.. we need to use them..
    (I believe each state has very similar laws to Ca)
