We believe that many of our rights and civil liberties as American citizens on American soil are at great risk and that a simple act of civil disobedience has the power to effect great change. While we have no interest or intention in breaking any law, we are willing to stand up for freedom and the constitution at any time and at any place and do so in a responsible and productive manner. It is our goal to create free and open discussion whenever possible in an effort to educate both ourselves and anyone with a desire to learn. A well known rule of government is that ignorance is no excuse for the law. It is our stand that we as Americans have been either uninformed or misinformed regarding our laws and rights for far too long. We are not attorneys or scholars, however we have been involved in professional photography for over 30 years and have had our rights and freedoms challenged more times than we can remember. No one group or person has the ability to effect change across the board, however we are committed to doing our part by continuing to stand up for our constitutional right to free press and the right to take photographs and video in public. All donations will be used exclusively to further this cause.   1. Dont chew gum with braces, dont eat your buggars, dont pick your butt, dont ciolate peoples rights. So many directives. while they are giving those directives Myself I would do the same to them why? Because While they repeat the same thing over and over they are also are calling me a slow thinker in a way. very disrespectful.

  8. Every place needs this rule. Im lucky to have this rule where I live.

    If the police stop you in a public place you are not required to answer questions. If you are not under arrest, you are entitled to go on your way.

  9. I wonder if that female police officer is related to Dustin Porier, the famous UFC fighter. He lives in Lafayette too.

  10. Back2Basic: demanding incidents number could PROVE abuse of 911 syatem and make all reports for that incident open to public records!

  11. Jason & Ben, When people come out and ask"what are you doing"? and you respond " filming, then their responce is " FOR , perhaps you might respond with 5 (and roll tour hand over like come on the next number is 6) and watch how puzzeled they will look at you.
    Just a thought.

  18. I grew up in Lafayette. Comeaux High School, 1969! I remember when Johnston was a two-lane! Good to hear those crawfish and Tabasco-pepper accents again. Friendliest people anywhere, and best food in the world. I miss it all except the weather. Go get something amazing to eat! Bring me some boudin and cracklin! I'm cryin' jealous here… Wavin' atcha!

  22. Did they do something wrong? they act awful guilty why would they care whether you're videotaping cars or anything for that matter when they ask you you should ask them, why did you do something wrong?

  27. Whoa what made y'all audit a car dealer lmao? Did that cop really say people casing places usually have an iPhone?? I have had iPhone for the last 7 years or so and I have never cased a place for a crime..

I video recorded, from the city property, a sky diving site out of town and the owner walked over and asked what I was recording for, I said just out of interest and new camera, and he said he thought I was from a lawyers office. They must have had some kind of injury from skydiiving possibly. So, its understandable why they ask..but anyways, good job, carry on Mr. Amagansett.

  30. Let's face it, they felt you owed them an explanation as to why you were filming, when you didn't answer, they called the cops to f with you.

  32. With Louisiana being a "stop and ID state" I assumed they would push for ID..good they didn't! Yes I know they still need RAS for ID 😂

  33. I had the local constables stop me and threatened to arrest me for having a pipe wrench in my tool box in the trunk they told me either I let them take it or I was going to jail
    I said take it. They did.

  41. I am southern, and I'm not going to insert my self into your film in public. That is rude behavior. Not going to ask what you are doing, I'll listen if you say hello and ask a question about the area I'll then engage in conversation. It's never good to interrupt someone when they are doing something. Its arrogant and as long as you arent hurting anyone or destroying property or actually trespassing I pay no attention.
