Even if the FST was objective and verifiable, which it isn't, there is a whole host of reasons why someone might fail, so why anyone would agree to one is beyond me.

I take 6 different medicines for my stroke that I didn't know about for a day when I drove myself to the hospital. I could drive better with a stroke than I can taking these meds. A stroke fucks up everything about you. If you were pulled over, you would look the part except without the alcohol smell. Oh God, don't even think about hitting a blunt from Colorado, I won't ever do that again when on these meds. I couldn't function.

you dont have to take a portable breath test, its also called a PBT. This is proof that even if you pass, your going to jail anyways. So why in the name of fuck all would you take a FST? Your just handing cops evidence to use against you. Which is stupid in any world.

do a blood test. if the breathalizer isn't calibrated it's wrong.
Refuse the FS test, ask for a blood draw done by a nurse

The police set you up to Fail… You have the right to remain silent and should do so. I would rather just go to jail and do the breathalyzer, and if you fail you could always argue the timeline when the machine was last calibrated… Usually they will book you and make you wait before you can blow into the machine, by then your BAC level can drop dramatically.
FST's are not used here in the UK we go straight to a roadside breath test and/or a drugs swab
if you refuse or fail you will be arrested and taken to the station where they have a evidential breath test urine testing and/or blood draw facilities
(note the limit in England is higher than Scotland and most of Europe)
if you still refuse you will be charged with refusal which can often carry more severe penalties than the DUI
Personally I have 0% sympathy for anybody that drinks and drives

It amazes me that people don't understand the these FSTs are performed 100% to allow police to set the narrative that you are impaired. There is never, ever any chance that your performance in a FST will ever help you avoid charges – it is only there to help police justify charging you with impairment. If you ever take a FST, it can only hurt you – it can never, ever help you. And still people take them, and think it will help them.
If you blow , you incriminate yourself, if you refuse well they have no evidence
Try doing it sober its difficult as soon as they want you to do the sidewalk Olympics your under arrest so just refuse, refuse the breathalyzer and jut ask to be taken to a hospital for a blood test and remain silent
