  2. Laura recently picked me up probably to check on me and make sure I was okay after the death of my father. She showed up several nights in a row and took me recording the police with her. I already knew she had made some really incredible videos. I don't make comments like that lightly or undeserved. There isn't anybody that makes better police video than her regardless if you love her style and personality or not. Nobody. You can watch and see how police will be abusing their authority, or definitely behaving in a way that leads a reasonable person to think things are about to get ugly. Then observe as she approaches, one officer will alert the unruly partner, "hey…Laura is here." The baton quickly is put to rest instead of being waved around in the air and seconds later it is returned to the vehicle where it should have been all along. Then like clock work police act like a kid who just got caught by a parent but are still rebellious enough to talk back. Moments later the police drive off hoping not to see her again that night else at least not under the same circumstances. Laura made hundreds of videos over the last 2 years and just recently she showed me her style strategy whatever you want to call it. I would like to say our approach is completely different but the fact is we both have our isolated areas of preference. She has pin pointed a department and area that she frequents and there isn't a person on the planet who could pay attention even a little and not admit and admire what she has done. She has done more then protect her community and give from her pocket heart and soul on what appears to be a daily basis. She has proven that police violence and lack of transparency is a problem simple to fix. If she can do it all by herself with no budget balancing all the responsibilities the rest of us do and then some, the rest of us can too.
As it turns out all it takes is a little dedication and the willingness to put some effort into something on a daily basis.
These qualities she has that I make sound so simple and common have eluded the rest of the population on this planet. She isn't going places where no problems exist and creating one to have a battle of words and wits. She is going to dangerous places with dangerous people on both sides of the table…and she is damn good at it. I tried really hard to make a supportive comment here and don't feel like it worked the way I wanted. But supposedly it is the thought that counts. You have to be proud of yourself Laura and others should envy your work. I do.

  3. LVMPD dick sticks gave you no special treatment for being a woman after they illegally detained you in handcuffs for 30 minutes with no ras I think the Report you have created with some of the police is a credit to your skills and communication and your no nonsense approach with them is a joy to watch 💪

  4. It takes courage and hardwork to hold cops accountable. If they are doing their jobs and fighting crime, they should welcome this kind of scrutiny with pride.

  5. Thanks for sharing…. Y'all are the best love seeing ur videos and can't wait to see the next sweeite. Stay safe out there 🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙

  6. Awesome video Thank You for sharing this.
Also glad to see you spending time with Daniel becuase he is going through a tough time and it is good to see him smiling again!!
Laura you are a true friend!!

  7. You and Daniel are heroes to me to, because in my old line of work I spent so many night time hours on the same streets. Many of the same hours in the same neighbourhoods. I literally recognize so many of the streets you record on.
I became more savy over time as to how and handle my vulnerabilities and keep my demeanor in check. It's hard out there when you have to be fearful of not just crooks, but knowing the cops are crooks too.
Next time you see a guy in his workman blues at 1am grabbing tools out of his truck to fix people's stuff, give him a smiley hello. That's why he's doing the job he's doing, for people to be happy.

  8. As with anything, it takes time to get your stride. Phil at HDCW has his down to a tee now, but looking back at his even he would point out "rookie mistakes" as he sees them. The rest of us just sit in front of our screens and marvel at the effort you put into educating the public and exposing abuse and corruption that's synonymous with law enforcement agencies.

  9. I have wondered about cops going easier on women photographers/auditors and feel they often do. Theresa R. is very strong and outspoken and pushes back firmly when confronted- little more than 5’ and 100 lbs. with lovely southern drawl. Denise Lynn is a new auditor l love. She, too, is a small woman who stands right up to even large, aggressive cops or even groups of them and walks away just fine. Pink Camera Magic and Chi Town Sue have been detained and/or arrested. Chi Town Sue has been arrested the most, starting within her first few audits. She, it seems, is a little older- less cute(?) than the others. Being a female auditor just might be a little easier for a woman, especially if she’s young and/or cute. There’s definitely a little flirtatious behavior going on towards Laura at times that l haven’t seen towards the others, though!
