The NYPD Investigation Unit / Public Safety Unit, which is a Unit of officers from different Pcts who ride in unmarked cars were out in East Harlem conducting unlawful unconstitutional car stops, targeting a certain audience of individuals (Black Male & Females) between the ages of 16-25.
CPU Copwatch Patrol Unit was monitoring this unit, until we came across them TWICE, on 2 Separate Car Stops conducting a 4th Amendment Rights Violation…..We began filming the stop, until 23Pct NYPD Sgt. Dwight A Powell, Shield No. 5285 Ordered his officers to violate & interfere with our recording on both car stops, and despite us recording from a reasonable distance, we were approached & threatened with arrest, basic intimidation 101.
ALL OFFICERS WERE WRITTEN UP FOR THEIR MISCONDUCT……
ALLEGATIONS:
1) 23Pct Sgt. DWIGHT A POWELL, Shield No. 5258 has 33 Allegations, 3 Lawsuits Settled, with MANY Substantiated Complaints against him throught his career.
2) 32Pct JIMMY D. GUTIERRES, (NYPD Public Safety Officer) Badge No. 27000.
3) 19Pct SHADDAD N. SALEM, (NYPD Public Safety Officer) Badge No. 19703.
