  2. I am only 15 minutes in to this but there are different Social Security benefits.
    SS – Social Security is what you paid in and get back when 62 or disabled
    SSI – Social Security Income – Is a welfare program that pays you if you didn't pay in enough to SS when you worked.
    SSI has all those restrictions, SS doesn't.

    Example: I have Multiple Sclerosis. At 51 I was eligible for my SS that I paid in. My husband died and I get his SS too (75% of it). No restrictions because I worked a fucking lot and paid in a fucking lot.

    My brother: Had a stroke and is paralyzed at 48. He was in prison a lot. He didn't pay into SS much because he wasn't working. So he gets SSI. There are restrictions on that income because it is a welfare program.
