To Harass and EXTORT
its less for fingerprints than it is for the touch DNA. that way if the vehicle races off and they cant find it right away, they can use where he touched it to prove that was the car that ran.
Believe me or not but that cop was "artificially" hopped up, if you know what I mean. He made a withdrawal from the evidence room.
It's very simple the more people he pulls over and writes tickets for the better his performance expectations

Laura I'm watching this video and you said you didn't know why the cop Taps the driver side light and why others cops do that but that's a safety feature. If anything happens to the cop during that call then they can find a vehicle by his fingerprints.
