Vehicle #4380 02/19/16 at 8:07PM CopwatchPatrolUnitCPU….Back in 2002, the State Legislature passed the ” New York Smoke-Free Air Act 17-504 prohibiting ALL people from smoking in Company Vehicles and all vehicles owned by the City of New York….ALSO…The #NYPD Patrol Guide 203-10 (Paragraph 14) prohibits all uniformed officers from smoking while on Active Duty…..AND!!…It is against New York Code 16-118 (LITTERING PROHIBITED) to throw any garbage, dust, ashes, paper or any object upon any street or public place which is a violation….IN THE REAL WORLD OF ACCOUNTABILITY..through this video this Officer can be charged within his Department for violating the Patrol Guide and receive a Command Discipline of up to 14 Vacation Days taken away, and also taken out of the vehicle patrol & placed on the Beat on foot patrol and a mark on his service record that could hinder future promotions…..AND ALSO IN THE REAL WORLD OF ACCOUNTABILITY…For the State Violations he committed, that would be a $250 Fine for violating the “New York Smoke-Free Air Act 17-504” by smoking in a New York City Vehicle while on the job…..AND ALSO RECEIVING A $50.00 FINE FOR VIOLATING “New York Code 16-118 (Littering Prohibited) for casting that Cigarette Butt on the street….Everyday people in the Community are targeted and written summonses for these same actions and are always held accountable for them, and also many people arrested because of lack of I.D…..
