Dallas, Texas — On July 25, 2022, at 10:57 AM, Portia Odufuwa, 37, arrived at Love Field Airport and exited a red Kia sedan. The preliminary investigation shows Odufuwa entered the terminal and walked into the restroom. About five minutes later, the suspect leaves the restroom wearing a black hoodie with the hood over her head and her hands in the front pockets. The suspect walks from the bathroom to the Southwest Airlines ticketing area and announces she has an announcement to make. Witnesses say Odufuwa starts to ramble, talking about a marriage, incarceration, and then said she was going to blow up the airport and pulls a handgun from her sweatshirt.

At 11:06:44 she pointed the gun towards the ceiling and fired multiple rounds. Officer Ronald Cronin, a 15-year veteran of DPD, was in the immediate area and engaged Ms. Odufuwa, giving verbal commands to drop the weapon. At 11:06:50, Odufuwa pointed her gun at Officer Cronin and an innocent bystander. At 11:06:51, Officer Cronin took cover behind a ticket kiosk and fired his department-issued weapon, hitting the suspect multiple times. Officer Cronin held his position and other DPD officers arrived to take Odufuwa into custody. Officers started first aid and called Dallas Fire Rescue for assistance. Odufuwa was taken to a local hospital for treatment where she underwent surgery for her injuries.

While processing the scene, law enforcement found rounds from Odufuwa’s weapon showing she shot at Officer Cronin. Odufuwa has been charged with aggravated assault against a public servant. Other charges are possible. At this time – we have identified the driver who dropped off the suspect – he has been identified as an Uber driver and is not involved in this incident. The suspect’s actions prior to arriving at the airport are still under investigation – as is a motive for this shooting. The Dallas Police Special Investigations Unit is investigating the incident. The Dallas County District Attorney also responded and is conducting an independent investigation.

  2. Wait! Was she a person of color? And wait a min! Was he a white cop? This was an act of Hitler! How dare he use his white privilege with a fully semi-automatic weapon of mass destruction to do an act of RACISM!!! Systemic racism on display!

  3. Thank god the first rounds the she shot wasn’t at civilians. So what was her purpose? Like no one even got her message lol

  4. wow girls suspects get a lot different treatment after being shot than guys eh? that's the one of the few times Ive heard compassion post shooting most times its all about why did you make me do that why were you stupid your a criminal etc its a girl and get ems in here now now now

  5. It's kinda weird to me that she still did this in full view of a armed officer. Surely nobody's that stupid. Thankfully though it looks like she was

  6. Officer was in point…good reaction.
.looked for cover, achieved line of sight, with cover, and engaged the target, then maintained cover, and control. Well executed when handling a dangerous situation alone.
