  2. This is GREAT, now I know where to go to commit crimes… ILLINOIS! If I'm arrested I'll be released without bail, then I'll make an anonymous complaint against the arresting officer and there's no one to testify. THANKS ILLINOIS!!! The question SHOULD be why 35% are NOT retiring early. The next story should be an estimate of how long those retired officers will draw benefits before Illinois goes bankrupt.

  13. So you have me for all of this but the camera. If clicking a button or switch to turn a camera on and its a requirement – dont forget to turn it on – simple. Also if its for your job…kinda hard to forget. Also yes they cost money – Towns, cities, states and the Govt… this country seems to have enough money for everything we dont need – its fine. Do we wonder where the funding came from for the X,Y, and Z for police equipment already? Nope – not a problem.

  14. Can't people be held in jail without bail? Why is bail required to keep rapist or kidnappers in jail? It just seems like it's a system where rapists who have money can walk but rapist who don't have money are held. Why not hold them both?

  15. The problem Mike, is that State Attorneys assume guilt when considering citizens but usually assume innocence when considering officers. If a shoplifter says they just forgot to pay for something, the fact that they left the store with it will be enough to assume intent. Or they will be extorted and threatened to accept a plea and then that will be held against them on their record. If that's the standard for citizens then cops should be treated the same, and the act itself used as evidence of their intent to commit a crime. This is a tidal shift from the citizens rejecting the concept of law enforcement being a noble profession and coming to believe they are gang members who are collecting revenue for their territories by harassing citizens. If a cop hasn't reported a bad cop over the last year, they looked the other way an untold number of times and are therefore bad cops themselves.

  16. Cops have lost the messaging by not attacking the issues. Even my grandmother feels that police are the source of most harm, harassing citizens who don't bend their neck. It's not going to stop until police start walking small, I predict. Remember, supporting police is one of the pillars of fascism.

I would never have a job that presents so many risks while knowing that even the perception that you made a mistake might land you in prison? Live your life, protect your family. God bless you all.

  27. If cops were working in favor of the public there's wouldn't be literally thousands of videos of cops abusing their authority in one form or another. One has to assume only a fraction of police encounters make their way onto video, and even fewer find their way into a public forum.

    How can this be explained?

  28. Given the recent political environment, police rosters will be going down drastically. The cities with the worst crime issues will go down the fastest. In not too many years, police depts across the nation will have to go on major recruitments.

  29. Probable cause is way to low standard to justify keeping somebody in jail (yes jail, not prison) for several months or years. Idea was to have 8th amendment, but judges just abuse that rule. People with misdemeanor charges should never have monetary bails unless they skip the court. Running away should be felony on its own so we don't have to have exception for the first rule. For the rest, people who aren't threat to society and don't intermediate the witnesses shouldn't have to wait in jail for trial at all. Now I think that bail shouldn't exist at all!

    Court have to do their job faster. Than we wouldn't have crime trouble for no bail. I don't care how, they should just do it!

    Anonymous reporting of police officers is MUST. Reason is to protect the other officers.

    Problem is that way to many police departments, way to often protect bad cops. If PDs can't clean their own houses, than legislators have to stop in and make laws like this.

    Also 4 U.S. Code § 8 – Respect for flag – No disrespect should be shown to the flag of the United States of America; the flag should not be dipped to any person or thing. Also (g) The flag should never have placed upon it, nor on any part of it, nor attached to it any mark, insignia, letter, word, figure, design, picture, or drawing of any nature. Also (i) The flag should never be used for advertising purposes in any manner whatsoever. At last (k) The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning.

    You should be Ashamed of yourself for this Disfigurement! This is no different then someone burning the Flag. It is a disgrace and insulting to what I have served and others in my family have died for to defend. It shows that you are a Enemy of the State and the Constitution you swore to up hold. You REALLY should consider taking that Abomination down!
