Bucyrus, Ohio — On Friday, November 11, 2022, the Bucyrus Police Department was made aware of a random shooting that had occurred in Morrow County at approximately 4:16 pm. At 4:28 pm, a vehicle description was provided by Deputies who’d responded to that scene. The suspect vehicle reportedly fled northbound from the Morrow County area, and there was at least one person injured during that incident. It was originally reported there were two (2) suspects in the vehicle. Both were considered armed and dangerous. While scouring the city in search of the suspect vehicle, officer Devin Wireman noticed a silver Honda SUV in the 100 block of East Charles Street, with its back window shattered and bullet damage on the rear of the vehicle. The driver 38-year-old Jacob Dan Davidson could be seen wearing a silver motorcycle helmet and was holding a rifle in his lap.

Wireman radioed for backup from Lt. Curt Bursby, a 2nd shift supervisor, who was already in the area. As the two officers attempted to conduct a stop on West Charles Street, Davidson opened fire twice through the back window of the SUV, striking the closest patrol cruiser. Wireman returned fire, with one bullet striking Davidson in his helmet. Davidson then surrendered to officers at the scene. Davidson has been indicted by the Crawford County Grand Jury on charges that include: felonious assault, a felony of the first-degree punishable with up to 11 years in prison, disrupting public services, and improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle, both fourth-degree felonies and each punishable with up to 18 months in prison and discharging a firearm on or near a prohibited premises, a third-degree felony punishable with up to 36 months in prison. Davidson remains in custody at the Crawford County Jail. Neither Wireman, Davidson nor anyone else in the area was hurt during the incident.

  1. I have a 2 yr old at home. 😢 Life flashing before his eyes, can’t even imagine. And notice he didn’t even hold back. He went all for it. True or die. ❤❤ mad respect.

  2. Always hate when they say they are going to off somebody. Your job isn't to kill, your job is to stop a threat. Whatever happens happens, but that should not be your goal as somebody who is supposed to bring peace. Only issue with this, and any other similar situation.
I get these situations can be very stressful, but "kill" should not be in your vocabulary.

  3. This is why violence of action is so important and effective. The moment he realized these officers were not going to run and hide, but immediately return fire (effective and accurate) and press forward, that he didn't want to die today.

  4. I'm happy the officers survived, but remember, THEY SIGNED UP FOR THIS. if they have kids or whatever, it was there choice to apply for the job. And not all of them do it for the sake of serving citizens. Some just want to be cops for the power. I'm not judging these guys, but too many of you just assume they're angels risking their lives for YOU…

  5. Absolute shame the courts, jails and taxpayers will have to bear the costs of supporting that dirtbag while he continues to steal air he doesn't deserve.

  6. I have see some real bravery from cops on this channel, but this is definitely at the top of the list.
This cop literally ran to a car while the guy was shooting at him. Omg, unbelievable. 💙💙
