We had teens back in the 90â€™s that were part of EMT/ Fire service types of programs. When they turned 18, even as Hs students, they could be fully operational on an ambulance. And this is normal for small town communities. I lived in VT. Getting people trained and wanting to do those types of jobs wasnâ€™t always easyâ€¦ so the programs existed to grab a couple of kids.
