So You STILL Wanna Be a Cop?

Sorry bout the sound quality on this one guys. No clue why it turned out so crappy compared to what I’ve had before in the truck. Hoping the content makes up for it ya savages!

In a follow up to my first video on becoming a cop: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCxpOkffUI2MQXWl2XWI6QPA

I mainly talk about the oral board interview and what to expect. As always, carry on the discussion in the comments.

  1. 8:00 my first thought on that one is to pay for the candy bar my partner ate. I probably need to get more of a "don't take that crap from people" mentality.

  2. Just failed my oral yesterday… it’s funny because I knew what I wanted to say but i just was not warm in the beginning … 😂 but this video definitely will help me in the future. Thanks

  3. I just want to say thank you. These really helped me. I feel like I always bomb the structured oral interview. A lot of officers left the department due to all that is going on in our country and the hiring group is the smallest in history. 4,000 on average apply this time it was about 100-200 people. So I have a great chance. Im prior service so Im stepping up to help my community. Wish me luck I really want this career.

  4. This was a very informative video. I'm turning 16 soon and I appreciate this for everyone thinking of going into law enforcement. Thanks again for the good video!

  5. I want to k ow your opinion. Am I too old? Is it too late? I am 50. I want to join the LAPD. I just started filling up an application last night. I have been training and teach teaching Martial Arts for Omer 15-20 years, so I am in a decent shape. I want to do this coz I think I still have years in me to do something like this. I know I can help the department and be a good cop. What do you think? Thanks.

  6. Did The George Floyd cops and the Tony Timpa cops take any tests? They did not seem to know that a person cannot live if pressure is being put on his neck so air cannot pass through like the victims of the Boston strangler, The BTK Wichita strangler and the Thugees of India who Did not die of a drug overdose.

  7. What do you write down for your background check when they ask “if there’s any crimes or drugs you did and weren’t caught for, you still need to tell us about it.”

Is this a setup for automatic DQs or should we try to remember as much as possible from childhood?

  8. Yeah come down here to Georgia there are bunch of assholes especially the troopersI really and truly will try to put you in jail for a year over a joint

  9. Anyone here in 2020 still want to be a cop? Good luck to anyone applying to or working for a major city…

  10. I moved here from Ireland 6 years ago and just became a citizen. I was almost a police officer in Ireland before I moved here with my wife. I trun 35 very shortly and I am thinking of becoming a Cop. What are my chances, being 35 and not from this country.

  11. Might also want to check which cities shoot 3 percent death rare rubber bullets at crowds and journalists when a friendly warning would suffice(and other brutalities), and get the cop job elsewhere. In fact with enough friends from the same academy you can move in the same small minded town and make it less of a corrupt sheriff situation, if you want.

  12. Getting out of the Marine corps next month. Been nervous about this process for some time especially on how long it takes. If I can ask all police and vetren officers how long it took them

  13. Way back when, I was working as a civilian commissary guy for my local jail. I had gotten out of the Army 6 months before and couldn't find a job in my field ( paralegal and yes, they all wanted a female, I think). So I worked commissary at the jail for about 3 months, maybe 4. Deputy positions open. I apply and then go to the board. There were maybe 5 deputies there, including the jail administrator. Go in there, suit and tie, sit down, say hello. Everyone kinda looks around, then someone asks a question. I answer. Another question. Another answer. Then one more question; and answer. They look around and say, well, i think I have heard enough. Thank you for your time. I am thinking, shit, I fucked up. Out in the hallway, one of the senior deputies comes up to me and says, Welcome Aboard. He told me that they really didn't know what to ask since I had been working with them so long. And so I became a Deputy Sheriff making $13,000.00 a year.

  14. I applaud you sir. I'm a 22 year lineman surrounded by limited maturity. Father of four, two are full blown adults. I'm pretty sure I could pass the morals and ethics questions. I just dont see myself dealing with all the Karen's and geo political know it alls. The public is a scary playground. Too many assholes. Thank you for the extra effort and the breakdown.

  15. I tried answer C and the interviewers felt like i was dodging their questions and got so impatient. they started repeating the questions and told me not to think too much.

  16. Can you messenger me exclusive police body cam videos? And pictures of wanted criminals for my you tube channel?

  17. I would probably pass the psychology test iv been psychology tested my whole life ! Matter fact I might make a video on that some how

  18. I just am so scared to fail and it holds me back from everything. I tell myself “what happens if I don’t make it. Waste of time don’t bother” and I hate it but can’t stop it

  19. Hey man I know this question is way late regarding the date of this video but one thing I am struggling with is when filling out applications and they want job history. I’m currently 29 and have been working since I was 15 but from 15-20 I didn’t hold a job for more than 3 months at a time so I have a very large number of previous employers. Do departments want your entire history? Or just the last 10 years or so?
