I disagree with red flag laws, at the same time i know politicians will pass them. I think that anyone that calls in for a redflag report and that turns out to be false should have to face a penalty. I dont believe it should only be a financial fine i believe they shouldbhave to serve time for making a false report. I think each case should be on a individual basis, but if it was a revenge type of report it should have a minimum of 90 days.

Id like to see a video on your stance on whats going on in Virginia. I myself SHAKILY stand with the citizens of VA in the 2A sanctuary states, including the sheriff and all of his officers. everywhere I look I see people are gearing up for the second Civil war and heel like THIS is the discussion to have and get the information out there. The governor is threatening to cut off all comms and basic services like electricity, water, internet, funding AS WELL AS send in the National Guard to enforce his illegal orders. Mike I am very pro firearm and a have negative feelings against the ruling class government and police.. Now that being said i enjoy your content and you show that there are police out here that do think for themselves.. i also have friends that are police .. Its my opinion that a lot of it (negative feelings) falls back on training.. I have talked to a (cop)friends that was trained that it is us(police) against them (everyone else) and that if you think that some one may possibly have a weapon.. even if you are not sure to shoot them anyways, because at the end of the day as long as the police go home then its a good day. and not to worry just make sure that you stick to the fact that you felt your life was in danger.. also told him that the police is a brotherhood and that they have each others back and that police very rarely get charged or convicted in such shooting. i don't know how you feel about that but us against them mentality seems wrong and could go both ways.. and that's no good for anyone. i am in no way looking forward to any kind of civil conflict.. i have children the youngest being only 4.. i want him to have a happy life and to inherit a world that isn't destroyed .. just a long way of saying great content keep free thinking and defending the Constitution.. one last thing about the red flag laws this whole danger to yourself bullshit.. i'm sorry but i feel like a person has the right to kill himself if he chooses like seat belt laws if i'm an adult pay my taxes pay my insurance then leave me be with the damn seat belt laws.. its a cash grab.. how much ruling does a person need? The FACT remains that these PPO's or restraining orders are still lacking any resemblance of a Due process just like red-flag supposed laws. PPO's are based solely on accusations, ex-parte (one sided story) where someone goes to a judge, makes a claim of "imminent danger", "fear" etc, when these terms are not against the law; I.E. someone being in fear isn't against the law unless they've been threatened, there's probably no "imminet danger" absent threats, actions which are threatening etc. Also there's no burden of proof, which is a legal requirement, it's a one sided story and again just like a red-flag law..

Red Flag laws are an end-run around due process. That breaks at least 4 Amendments in every instance. Force to repel or stop is justified the force presented to strip you of your rights and property. It is tyranny and that is why we're armed.

for those of us who are unlucky enough to live in California, I have three ideas that could be an alternative to handguns. Number one a crossbow, don't think there are any laws about restricting hunting bowls just as easy as a pistol to use. two a bucket of legos, (this would only work if the intruder was barefoot. third a cactus catapult, making something like a capsule is easy then you find yourself a real nasty cactus with nasty thorns (like a teddy bear cholla) and when the bad guy comes in, aim for the head and watch him fall to the floor. his face now covered in cactus spines.
also when the officer asks you why you used a cactus of all things to defend yourself you can just say gun laws are getting too ridiculous and ammo's too expensive

Best advice I can offer is have some firearms in your house for home defense. Stash some in your storage shed, in a cardboard box marked, " wife's old stained panties". Bury some in the backyard, stash some in the trunk of that rusting 1970 Ford LTD with weeds growing around it. DON'T PUT ALL YOUR EGGS IN ONE BASKET. Back in the old days, people kept an old shotgun or old rifle stashed in the barn. Mine is painted flat black( to prevent rust) and has a condom over the barrel to keep the bore clear.

The politicians aren't going to ease up on anything, they're not the ones going to be kicking down doors. When Connecticut did their "assault weapons" registry and 80% of the owners failed to comply, the local news paper ran editorials and the pols started screaming bloody murder for the police to go house to house. Obviously LE didn't do that, but the politicians don't give a damn about potential bloodshed as long as it's not theirs.
I don't have a problem with my neighbor having a different opinion but they need facts to back up their speech. Facts speak for themselves, your feelings only speak for you.
Real question. Shouldnt we gun owners maybe try and figure out a way to prevent mass shootings instead of judging the other sides attempts at it? 1. I disagree with mental diagnosis being grounds for taking a weapon, in and of itself. In all cases where we infringe on the liberty of another in the name of public safety, it should be with the full due process of law. The last thing we need are anti-gun people able to effectively enforce their anti-gun agenda from their professions. While the testimony of a professional may be useful as part of a hearing, every individual should have the ability to defend themselves in court. If the person is truly so unsafe that they can't be trusted with arms, then the requirements to take away their weapons should be along the same reasonable requirements to make an arrest as a person who is that unsafe should be taken into a psychiatric hold or jail, depending on the nature of the issue, not simply having the weapons in reach taken and expecting nothing else to go wrong.
2. A person being released from prison should only be released if there's a genuine belief they will not commit acts of crime again. Both of these points underscore issues with our criminal justice system, but this one more-so. I believe part of the issue with high recidivism rates is the overpopulated prisons which hinders the ability to reform convicted felons. The prisons, I believe, are not overpopulated because of real crime, but people who were made criminals on matters that were not actually infringements on another person (e.g. drug enforcement).

This went on for too long with people wondering what was going on. The authorities should have immediately made clear that it was NOT the enforcement of a red flag law, and state clearly what had happened. Leaving people in the dark made things worse and could have escalated the situation.
I don't want a boogaloo, but if it does happen due to gun confiscation on a large scale the fault will be in this order
1. The politicians that passed red flag and other confiscatory gun laws.
2. The police, for enforcing such laws. Unconstitutional laws only work due to police enforcement.
