Police released the body cam video of an officer-involved shooting in Athens. A man was shot early Saturday morning by an Athens-Clarke County police officer. Police said preliminary information indicates at approximately 3 a.m., an officer was on routine patrol and stopped at the Golden Pantry in the 2200 block of Barnett Shoals Road.
The officer saw two males pouring liquor into a cup and one of them had possession of a firearm. Police said the officer gave multiple commands to Justin Tramell Scott, 22. When Scott reached for his firearm, police said the officer fired shots, striking Scott.
After being shot, Scott fled and was apprehended a short distance later by another officer who responded to the scene. Scott was taken to a local hospital for treatment for a non-life-threatening injury. No officers were injured during this incident.
The GBI will conduct an independent investigation to determine what occurred during the incident. When the investigation is complete, it will be turned over to the Clarke County District Attorney’s Office for any action they deem appropriate.

The officer realised after the initial shooting that he has done a mistake to shoot a fleeing person who poses no threat,, luckily his first shots were not lethal…or else he will either be facing trial and job gone or chaos on street for executing someone just because he can't be bothered to chase…he realised taser was appropriate 4 dis lil scumbag..others might have thought what an opportunity…

That wasnt even ONE Km the officer run, more likely just 500m (runners will know what i am talking about; if you consider he's running in a slightly sprint, for 2minutes, its more likely that this wasnt even 500m, but 400m when we go with 5min to 4.5min/km running speed). Even if his equipment is heavier than 15Kg (which is unlikely) and his Shoes arent the best to run in, you should atleast pull off 5km in 6min/km speed or 2km in 4.5min/km speed.
This is just another example why Murica police is not nearly enough trained and not well enough sorted through apprentices.
