  1. This is not that unusual with a non-aggressive or calm, no adrenaline person, non-compliant person. The dog is like well that guy, 'he be cool' so it must be someone else we want right boss, let me go check that. Or the dog is fresh on the street and is used to the bite suit or sleeve and didn't see anyone carrying it: why we progress to hidden sleeve before deployment to the street.

That said, (and not judging here just saying) its a training issue and it is the handler that needs it. Rocco was like 'no sleeve no bite'. The taser would have been a better choice, less damage too, and if you can use a dog you can use your baton or taser.

Guy runs, use the dog, guy stands still or walks, taser, tackle or thump if it is justified and within your policy. As Sean Connery would say, "There endeth the lesson."

  2. YouTube Video – Police Office illegally Detaining 1st Amendment Auditor
YouTube Video – Cops Illegal Detainment And Search
Watch two different police officers ignore the law and citizen rights and start telling lies as an excuse to arrest a person innocent of any crime. This happened because:
    1) The cops don't care about the law or citizen rights and violate both because they considers himself above the law
    2) The cops are too stupid to remember or understand the law and citizen rights
    3) A combination of 1 & 2

  3. I do think it was the guy acting non threatening. If you are calm and truly not afraid subconsciously, the dog doesn't sence you as a threat. Poor Rocco was all…where the guy, theres gotta be someone around here threatening dad.

I've had run ins with many aggressive dogs in my life and if you read them right, truly have confidence, talk to them in a subdued manner, they will usually stand down. You definitely dont want to push your luck with the dog and often retreat is necessary if they are guarding their territory. But you have to do it properly, respect the dog and let them know you understand.

Still an interesting video to watch.

  4. Anyone else wondering why the dog was sent after the guy for not moving his hands? Perhaps the officer needs the training and the dog is better at perceiving a threat.

  5. K9 smarter then the cop. Why did that guy need to have a dog bite him. Cops a p@ssy go hands on if so important. Think of the cost of the guys medical bills that tax payer will cover, all cause 1 cop has his ego hurt or can’t deescalate a already calm “perp”.
