Police Helicopter Rescues Injured Hiker From Surprise Lake

It’s been a minute since we’ve shared police search and rescue footage. Today’s mission takes us to Surprise Lake in King County, Washington’s Skykomish Watershed, where we learn the secret to making the best of breaking your ankle in the backcountry: make sure you have a pair of Corgis with you.

Total cost of helicopter ride, ground team, helicopter medic, and rescuer: $0.

Oh, and there might – just maybe – be a sneak preview of ‘you’ll never guess who got himself arrested again’ footage at the end of this video.

(Did you guess Benzino? Because that would be a good guess.)

Enjoy!

  1. This is not Surprise Lake. It's Surprise Creek Trailhead, which is in the Cascade Mountain range off of Hwy 2 in Washington.

  2. Kinda ironic! Man goes on one of the most rugged and remote camping adventures that defines all levels of masculinity then needs to get air lifted out for a sprained ankle. Hmm stay away from them rocks!! And better not take your eyes off those pretty dogs because I know there’s at least 3 wolves close by lying in wait

  3. He can feel and move his toes so its definitely not broken, its just an Ankle sprain. The swelling makes it look so much worse than it is, hell be back to normal in 2 weeks.

  4. If you get hurt out in a remote wilderness area these are definitely the guys you hope come and get you out ! Great job!

  5. Heh heh, I’m still at the very beginning after the unzip the tent but those dogs are chilled out and totally unfazed by all the commotion, apparently.

  6. Of course Benzino AKA The Grown Child is back again to entertain the masses with his immaturity and stupidity! 👏 😂

  7. Oh god no!!! Not a fu@ken Man Bunn!!?? Ffs!! No wonder he needed to be rescued. I think he’s light in the loafers and she’s both the woman and the man. What a loser.

  8. Woman #2: “Oh my gosh my nephew is in search and rescue as well and he did his 100th rescue just last week”
    Responder: “Yep”

  9. Thank you so much. The one mode of transportation I have never been in. I loved it. Great work by the pilot and rescuers. It takes a lot of skill and courage to do this job.

  10. I’m not exactly the world’s most macho man but I think I would be too embarrassed to wear a Covid mask while being winched up into a search and rescue chopper.

  11. I can't believe anyone would fracture their ankle where these people put their tent. I can only imagine how these boulders are like after a bit of rain. Great job rescuers.
