That seemed pretty excessive to me. It looked like he may not have even noticed the officer behind him which is very possible if he was drunk. Approaching him with a gun drawn like that was pretty reckless by the officer. If that gun accidentally went off that officer could have been looking at negligent homicide or at least reckless conduct with a firearm.

Some people want to know why the cops didn't snatch the guy out and throw him on the ground like they do most suspects. Is it possible this was a small rural city/town and the police officers knew who it was?

The white truck is a complete loss. The black truck looks like it needs side and rear end repair work unless the chassis is completely damaged then it is also a total right off.
