The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office released bodycam video of a deputy shooting a dog that tried to attack her over the weekend. Deputies responded to a home on Oakley Ave. in Hudson on Saturday after deputies said the pit bull dog attacked a homeless man. When deputies tried to make contact with the dog’s owner, the dog broke its leash and went after the deputy, grabbing her pant leg and causing her to trip. Bodycam video shows the deputy approaching the home, calling out to the owner, and then the dog barking aggressively and lunging at the deputy.
“I saw the dog come out and attack the Pasco County Sheriff’s officer, a female, and she was backing up to get away from the dog, and she fell down,†says Jim Ames, a neighbor. The deputy was forced to fire her gun at the dog, deputies said. One of the shots grazed her finger and she was taken to the hospital to have her injury treated. The homeless man also suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The sheriff’s office says this deputy has three pit bull dogs herself and she is familiar with the breed. It’s unclear if the dog’s owner will face any charges

Notice be fair the mf had not right to come out to a animal call and the guy that got bit has no right to aggervate the dog or harras him if THAT been the case that that was the dog that bit him" and furrhee more id the cops knows there is an watch dog on premises why go on property to aggervate the animal. Cop said dog was chained then broke free there for they violated their own law and kept aggregating the dog, most of all the bitch came on private property talking About shooting the dog with out knowing. They wanted to kill the dog but they didn't Animal Control took the dog away and left him laying there in a pan in about caged for four days without anything in any kind of medical attention or anything and then put him down after for sucking days of sitting in the pain talking about in humaine but yet they say don't hurt animals and I adopted the animal from the Humane Society so who are they to adopt animals that like that if he was so vicious. they said they have it there's one lady out there that works at the Humane Society that knows that he wasn't vicious she picked him up and he wrote in the front seat of her truck all the way down to the Humane Society before I adopted him I said he was the sweetest animal that she's ever came across
