Oakland County Deputy Hit By Car Sliding On Icy Road

A veteran Oakland County Sheriff’s deputy was injured after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday morning while assisting with several crashes related to icy road conditions in Pontiac.

According to a department press release, deputies responded to the area of Martin Luther King Boulevard and Pike Street around 7:45 a.m. for multiple crashes related to the slippery roadway.

The deputy, 37, was struck by the out-of-control vehicle as he began to walk toward another patrol car on the scene and was knocked over the hood of the oncoming vehicle.
