My dad is a border patrol agent, and I’m under arrest

On October 29, 2021, at approximately 4:30 a.m., Las Cruces Police Officers Joshua Nanez and Catrina Ornelas were on patrol when the pair were dispatched downtown in reference to a single-vehicle accident. The reporting party stated that a four-door Nissan had struck a tree. And struck a tree it had; the Nissan exhibited what officers described as “extreme front end damage.” According to the driver, Melissa Ventura, she had been on her way home after bar hopping in El Paso. At some point, she reached down for to find one of her high heel shoes that had come off, and when she looked back up, she was headed straight for a tree.

Both of Ms. Ventura’s breath alcohol test returned a result of .10% BAC. Ms. Ventura has entered a plea of not guilty to the crime of DWI Driving While Under the Influence of Liquor and/or Drugs (.08 or Above) (1st Offense). Her jury trial is currently scheduled for October 31, 2022.

  1. Separately: On August 10, 2018, Richard Russell stole a Horizon Air Bombardier Q400 from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, taking the plane for a spin before killing himself by crashing into Ketron Island. Yesterday, on our sister channel, I published exclusive, never-before-seen footage showing the emergency response to Richard Russell's crash. The footage is surreal, and the video description calls out specific unethical practices by KOIN TV. Check them both out @ rwp.yt/q4!

  2. This is how all police interactions should go. Respect on both sides at all times. Great job officers. I hope Melissa Ventura learned a lesson and makes better choices in the future. I wish her luck 🤓

  3. The way she moving around alot it look like she on white girl or meth or some kind of uper n the way she talking she drunk but in the same time she on some kind of drug that's a uper trust me I use to do drugs n I did every thing n this is my 2 year clean so I can tell just by looking at someone what kind of drugs they r on just by looking at them

  4. I'm curious, I thought you could deny a Field Sobriety Test? The officer said she wanted to do the test and she said "I'm good. Honestly I'm fine" and the cop said "I'm going to determine that" and made her do the test. In some states do you not have a choice? Or maybe she didn't refuse the test clearly enough?

(she is clearly fucked up and in the wrong but just curious about that specifically. I thought you could say no to the field test.)

  5. Going out into the public wearing nothing but a bra tells me her 'dad' didn't do a good job with the discipline. And she has no other clothing(top) inside the car.

  6. This girl is hot, and also seems completely sober to me. Just my opinion. She'll have her day in court, hopefully the lawyer can get it thrown out. The roadside olympics can be used against the cops as well, becuase the lawyer will play the body cams in court and ask the cops what she did wrong, the cop will have to explain why they violated the girls 4th amendment rights.
