Misconduct: Officer Lets Impaired Driver Go Because His Shift is Ending Soon

After watching Officer Uriel Paredes of Arkansas’ Little Prairie Police Department arrest third grade teacher / bus driver / justice of the peace / “but my kid was in a WRECK!” Andrea Jenkins, the law enforcement inaction seen in this video is… starkly contrasted. I’ll leave it at that.

Okay. No I won’t. Jesse Pierson, a Port Orange police officer, was off-duty when he was rear-ended by an SUV on North Dixie Freeway in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. Officer Eric Peterson of the New Smyrna Beach Police Department questioned the at-fault driver and found that he was hammered. Barely able to stand, slurring his speech, the whole nine yards and then a few more yards for good measure. The guy was a no-brainer candidate for jail.

Another New Smyrna Beach officer, Jeff Cornelisse, clearly agreed. Cornelisse is heard on camera stating that the driver is “messed up,” and that “he would be a DUI all day, just on booze alone.”

But Officer Peterson’s shift was ending soon. And man, would it be LAME to have to actually do work so close to the end of your shift!*

So, what’ll it be? Hmm… How about instead you just let the impaired driver catch a ride home? That seems smart. 🤦‍♂️

An internal investigation found that the two NSB officers “ignored signs of impairment” and did not meet the “productivity of workmanship” standards expected of them. Both were issued written reprimands.

*It’s not like it would result in overtime, or anything. And yes that’s sarcasm. Of course it would. “Collars for dollars…”

  1. Hey you need to stop putting click bait up ok your trying to make people hate the police and half the people that probably watch this don't even know what there saying and are probably named Karen

  2. To the dude who got hit and still offered to let the cop stand under his umbrella only to have to watch that same cop let the drunk driver that hit him go. Your a god of patience.

  3. This cop needs a different job so he doesn’t have to work overtime. They are both a disgrace. I hear Walmart is hiring.

  4. A black cop giving a white guy a break is horrendous to some of all of y’all. The cop should have arrested him because there was an accident involved. A cop can have someone pick you up if you’ve been driving under the influence and he has that discretion but he doesn’t have that discretion if an accident is involved or personal injury.

  5. Its like the other cop said.. its not like he let him drive away he couldn't hurt anyone else the car isn't drivable they have to find a ride now

  6. Interesting……. if you plan to drink & drive…… your best chances of getting off is at 5 pm 🙆🏻‍♀️
    I love “ I’ll be missing you “ 🎶

  7. Clearly could careless about the community. Written rep reprimanded? That’s the worth of someone’s life? Disgrace.

  8. I completely agree he should have been arrested… I have watched other videos of them pulling over another cop who was just as drunk as this guy or maybe more so and they let someone drive the drunk cop home…. So what's the difference?

  9. I need to move to that neighborhood. I mean if the cops are that lazy and sound like backwater lowlifes? Sheeeeeeeeeee

  10. When that drunk driver hits and kills someone, I hope the victim's family sues that officer. My nephew as killed by a drunk driver. This is beyond ridiculous.

  11. Ppl in that city an that dude should be lucky that theres a cop thats only worried about a check not anyones safety you know there's a thing called overtime an you mf shouldnt be able to turn the cameras off period

  12. You can tell how lazy this cop is just by listening to him do his paperwork. All that grunting and moaning, I thought I was on porn hub for a second.

  13. With all the huffing and puffing that he does, it sounds like everything is a hustle to him – no matter what the time is.
And even his ears are to lazy to listen..
