  9. One time I was driving alligator alley I could see the Naples side toll booth and there was a major crash, fhp made everyone drive across the median and go ALL the way back

  15. Shucks, I thought this was gonna be about US 41 (Tamiami Trail)! True story- one time in 1989, I was with a church youth group in a 15 passenger van on our way to Naples on that highway, when we ran over an alligator and darn near wrecked the van. All this in the middle of the night! The 'gator just walked off like nothing happened.

  18. Actually, its basically just as far from Pensacola, far west end of the panhandle to Jacksonville as it is from Jacksonville to Miami in the main part of the peninsula.

  21. Driving Alligator Alley, wearing crocks…… Can't wait till May 10th, going to my place in Kissimmee from the UK for 2 weeks of R&R!!
