14. I rewatched the video the man's hands weren't even raised and they hardly gave him a chance to really comply, so yes, this is a clear case of the cops killing him for no reason. However, whilst not totally justified, this could've been prevented if the dispatcher did his job and told the man to stay in the house and not go for his "weapon" also the extra mag dump was a bit too much, the family should sue and sadly this officer/officers should go to jail and be fired.

17. A lot went wrong here, from horrible lack of communication to lack of common sense. But I will say, I feel like this outcome is a lot more likely when you live in a state in which possession of a gun by anyone but the police pretty much automatically makes someone a "bad guy."

    Mantua Township, New Jersey — The Attorney General’s Office today released a 911 call and video footage from a body worn camera related to a fatal police-involved shooting that occurred on Sept. 14, 2021, in Mantua, N.J. The decedent has been identified as Charles Sharp III, 49, who lived at the address where the shooting occurred. According to the investigation, two uniformed officers of the Mantua Township Police Department responded to Sharp’s residence on Elm Avenue at approximately 1:35 a.m. on Sept. 14 in response to a 911 call from Sharp, who reported that several persons were trespassing on his property, including a person armed with a gun. When the police officers arrived, they encountered Sharp outside the house. During the encounter, one officer fired his service weapon, fatally wounding Sharp. A detailed replica of a .45-caliber semi-automatic handgun was found near Sharp. Officers and medical personnel rendered first aid to Sharp, who was transported to Jefferson Washington Township Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased at 2:49 a.m.

31. Feels like suicide by cop. The 911 caller reports a trespasser in his yard with a gun and then he (the 911 caller) stands in his yard with a gun (albeit a fake one) in hand to greet the police. Doesn't make sense unless he wanted to be killed.

Could’ve ended in a much better way.. the caller should’ve stated that he was in a red shirt and in front of his resident with a gun, fake or not, and the 911 operator should’ve told him to get inside or he may get shot. Operator failed to ask the caller his positioning and the caller failed to state his positioning. Tragic ending

36. At first I thought what the hell? That was murder. But then I started to watch that video scene where the cop lits him up several times on 0.1 speed and I'm pretty sure now, the caller tried to pull the slide of his replica back. The same blink of an eye moment, the cop lit him up.
    Long story short, looks like suicide by cop. Anyone else noticed the description of the people on his property he gave, was his own appearance?

43. at 4:09 I hear "put the gun down" command… then 14 seconds transpires until the first shots… The video has a significant portion missing… mainly from the first "put the gun down" command that is audible on the 911 call.

    Not a bright for any parties involved. First off don't think you can use a "fake" gun OR an unloaded gun as a scare tactic…
    Also IF you intend to "handle the problem yourself" don't involve the police (which isn't wise either)

    That being said just because somebody has a gun does not mean they are the bad guy… This guy should have been very upfront with 911 about being armed (looking armed) instead of beating around the bush about it.

    I am highly suspect that this might have been intentional 'suicide by cop'.
