Los Angeles, California — On June 19, 2022, at around 10:40 p.m., Foothill Division patrol officers received a “415 Man with a Gun” radio call. The comments of the radio call documented the suspect’s description to include being in possession of a bicycle. Upon the officers’ arrival to the area of Van Nuys Boulevard and Laurel Canyon Boulevard, they observed a person matching the description of the reported suspect armed with a firearm. The officers exited their police vehicle to make contact with the suspect, utilizing their vehicle doors for cover.

An officer gave the suspect verbal commands, the suspect walked in the direction toward the officers and removed a firearm from his front waist area, firing at the officers, resulting in an Officer- Involved Shooting (OIS). The suspect was struck by the officers’ gunfire and taken into custody without further incident. Due to the suspect’s injury, a Rescue Ambulance transported the suspect to the hospital. While at the hospital, the assigned physician pronounced the suspect deceased. The suspect was later identified as 24-year-old Oscar Santiago, a resident of Los Angeles. No Officers, victims, or bystanders were injured during this incident. Santiago’s loaded 9mm semi-automatic handgun was recovered at scene and will be booked as evidence.

  1. I initially thought the officer that was driving was female (based on voice), until I saw the other officer's bodycam footage, lol. Nonetheless, great work officers! One more dirtbag off the streets!

  2. I literally don't understand these people. 24 years old, whole life ahead of him and he decides he's going to shoot at police when it's two on one and they have body armor and he doesn't. Did he think he would win that shootout?

  3. Two of America's three most prized possessions on full display in all their beauty: a NRA-supported citizen exercising his right to bear arms while doing so in front of a liquor store. Thrown in him being high on crack or oxycontin and we'd have the great American trifecta. So good to see the heroic effort to protect gun rights paying off so well again. Too bad the police have to keep ruining people's efforts to use their god-given right to fire their guns at will. Hope the NRA paid for this idiot's funeral.

  4. Analyzing the dumb guy's shots: First shot went up at about 60deg angle. Second shot, while level, was about 30 feet to the right.

  5. The officer knew he had a gun, he should not have yelled at the guy until he was out of the car gun in hand. The officer is lucky he didn’t get shot before he could draw.

  6. That officer that rounded the vehicle sure doesn't care much about his partner lighting him up with his flashlight like that… 😛

  7. ACAB people will come up with some excuse like "of course when someone just shouts at you to see your hands you shoot at them!"
