Micanopy, Florida — Deputy Shon McGuigan was monitoring traffic in the area of I-75 and County Road 234 in Micanopy when he observed a gold Chevy Suburban plow through the stop sign coming off the interstate turning right onto County Road 234. The vehicle struck a curb and drove into the oncoming lane of traffic on County Road 234, and then began fleeing from Deputy McGuigan when he activated his lights and siren. The route of the pursuit began in the parking lot of Café Risque, turned onto County Road 234, where the suspect threw a Terrapin Cryosphere alcoholic beverage out the window. The suspect turned southbound on 441, first driving southbound in the northbound lanes before transitioning back to the correct side of the road.

He reached speeds of 100 miles per hour in a construction zone all while giving Deputy McGuigan the middle finger. Deputy McGuigan first tried to PIT Richardson’s vehicle several times when the suspect’s speeds were lower and did finally execute a PIT maneuver, causing Richardson to spin out in the median, but Richardson was able drive away, heading back northbound on 441, intentionally ramming Deputy McGuigan’s vehicle at least twice. Deputy Dasher deployed stop sticks unsuccessfully, and other law enforcement joined the pursuit, including FHP, Deputy Bryan Jones and Deputy Jasper Stephenson. The pursuit continued onto Cholokka Boulevard in Micanopy and finally back southbound on 441. Deputy Stephenson was finally able to initiate another PIT maneuver which was successful.

Deputy McGuigan made contact with the vehicle, and Richardson again, tried to drive away, but FHP and deputies Jones and Stephenson all pinned the vehicle in and apprehended Mr. Richardson without incident. Further investigation revealed that Richardson was a suspect in an identical incident in Marion County earlier in the day involving the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and FHP. Also, Mr. Richardson is on probation in Citrus County for DUI and Fleeing and Eluding Law Enforcement. His license had previously been revoked. He is charged with Fleeing and Eluding Law Enforcement, Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer, Driving While License Suspended/Revoked, Reckless Driving and Citrus County has also advised they will be filing a violation of probation charges.

  1. Nearly every day, someone is killed during a high-speed chase between police and a suspect. Almost half of the 11,500 people killed since 1979 have been bystanders or passengers in fleeing cars.

  2. Que perseguição zero bom é no Brasil que um meliante na moto já chama águia e quinze viatura paii 😁🔥🔥

  3. Wth is wrong with all these devout Christians Bible thumping Methheads man ? PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THE PAGAN ROMAN BASL SUNGOD WORSHIP BIBLE…ITS POISON….EVIL 😈 .

  4. I’d gotten out of the car and point my gun at the suspect. Then smoke him if he tries to move. Take out the trash and be done.

  5. I don't understand why the cops need to damage 3 police cars. They should have smashed the car hard the first time John Wick style. Not to mention they wasted a lot of gas cruising along with the perp.

  6. who the crap picks road works and cones to do a pit manoeuvre but then leaves him in peace on the straight empty road???? Also attempts to swing him off by helping him corner faster??? WTF Send this rookie back to the driver's ed.

  7. Lol three moron cops smash public property to stop one vehicle that's already disabled 😆 that's how work goes when you send high School dropouts to do the job of somebody who should at least have a two or four year degree in college studying something other than criminal justice..

  8. Pit maneuvers on any vehicle with a high center of gravity such as an SUV or a minivan should be illegal due to the incredibly high likelihood of serious bodily injury to the person alluding the police, the officer, and most importantly the public! Officers that perform this maneuver on these vehicles should be charged with reckless endangerment and be put in jail . They could have just caught up with him at his house later. To me, none of this was worth it. All I see is a brain-dead cop chasing his pride like a pathetic dog chases its tail.

  9. I'm for the cops. But not one who lies and the video is very clear. The Cop,"he just rammed me." And then again. The Cop," he's rammed me twice now." So I'm sure the aggravated assault charge was dropped. 😂
