Gulfport, Mississippi — On Thursday, October 06, 2022, at 2:29 p.m., Gulfport Police Department (GPD) received a 911 call for service concerning a reckless driver traveling in the area of 8813 Lorraine Road, Gulfport, Mississippi. The caller advised that occupants inside a silver Kia Soul were brandishing firearms and wearing camouflage masks. At 2:42 p.m., GPD Officers Kenneth Nassar and Benjamin Ford located the aforementioned vehicle on Pass Road in Gulfport, Mississippi. The Kia Soul entered the parking lot of the Family Dollar, located at address 1016 Pass Road, Gulfport, Mississippi. Officer Nassar and Officer Ford followed the Kia Soul into the parking lot. Once the Kia Soul stopped, one of the occupants, who was identified as 15-year-old Jaheim McMillan, exited the right rear passenger seat of the vehicle while holding a pistol in his right hand.

Once exiting the Kia Soul, McMillan ran towards the front of the Kia Soul toward the front of the Family Dollar. About this time, Officer Nassar gave verbal commands for McMillan to “stop…drop it.” McMillan did not comply. During the encounter with McMillan, Officer Nassar discharged his firearm while directing his firearm toward McMillan. As a result of the officer-involved shooting, McMillan received injuries to his body. McMillan was transported to Memorial Hospital (MH) at Gulfport to be treated for his injuries. McMillan was subsequently transported to USA Health University Hospital (HUH), in Mobile, Alabama. The State Medical Examiner ruled McMillan’s cause of death as a gunshot wound to the head and the manner of death as homicide.

Including McMillan, there were five teenage boys in the Kia, with ages ranging from 17 to 14 years old. During the time of McMillan’s encounter with the officer, a 16-year-old had also fled the vehicle holding a pistol and ran toward the front of the Family Dollar, then along the left side of the building toward a wooded area. A second responding police officer pursued the teenager on foot. The 16-year-old later told police he dropped his gun during the pursuit and remembered hearing a taser fired in his direction. The officer eventually caught him and took him into police custody. Because the other officer was in pursuit, the officer who shot McMillan believed he was alone with the other three teenagers who had been in the Kia, so he turned his attention to them. When other officers arrived, the other three teens were taken into custody.

  1. 🧐🤌Its a Crime scene buddy!!!!
✌😑officer (1) ran for other perp, officer(2) did his job in containing suspect, taken him down, putting other suspects in position to be observed, no weapons, but other one did have something, when he went to other side of the car!!!🤔I kno they will find it!!!Good job, no officer was hurt, Parents; you are the way to these kids future; teach them right from wrong, give a chance at a decent life!!!! 😑😔an thats the outcome when you dont guide them🙏🕊

  2. Medical examiner said the manner of death was homicide. Does that mean they're charging the cop or did that kid kill someone. Didn't quite understand.

  3. I read numerous articles about this case. Here is the basic rundown.
This group of teenagers had stolen 3 handguns from a car that was parked at a local hotel earlier the same day.
They did in fact admit to driving around wearing masks and brandishing the guns at other drivers as well as chasing one car that took off, as was reported to these officers from dispatch.
Both teenagers that ran were armed. If you slow the video down to 1/4 speed and watch from about 1:45 watch the hands and head of kid in red. Zoom if need be, but he clearly has a gun in his right hand. After he changes direction both hands are swinging as he runs. You can tell the point that he focuses on the officer and still has not dropped the gun yet him and the officer are getting closer to each other. That is when officer chose to shoot.
The other kid that ran dropped his gun and that officer switched to a tazer.
That kid actually stated that he was surprised that he wasn't shot. He also stated as he walked back with that officer that Jaheim probably pointed his gun at the other officer because is something that he would do.

  4. Future roll models in the blm bs organization.

Fantastic work by the officers, mute the woke ass media narrative while saving innocent lives

  5. wasn't a mag dump but he still panic fired, missing at least two rounds with the backstop of a window that may have had innocents on the other side. also at least half the rounds where fired at the stupid kid as he lay still. meaning those two misses where at stationary target, not that great. EVERYONE of us MUST practice proper weapons handling. thankfully no one was on the other side of the glass. and for all the bootlickers i never said cop shouldn't have smoked the idiot with the gun i'm merely point out things that were done WRONG so we ALL can learn from them. just think if you as a civilian had to use your fire arm in self defense how do you think a prosecutor would treat YOU as opposed to leos. we all gotta be spot on with our marksmaship ALWAYS. but the biggest thing he did correct was movement, he didn't stay on the x, next thing is he didn't grab the radio half way through his shooting to say he was shooting. all in all not bad. i've gotten some crap from time to time making points like this in the past and to those i say. we all must learn from real life events ladies and gents BEFORE we get into a life or death encounter such as this. this aint about "rambo" type crap this is for real learning from the good and bad of others. if you can't figure that out then i don't know what to tell ya.
