Modern gangs have certainly learned from the mafia of the 20’s to today. They haven’t learned to get out of violence like the Rico mafia of the 80’s and 90’s but they will get there. Violence and petty crime pays more in jail meals then it does in criminal proceeds.

I love the part where gangs are recruiting members saying "well this is where you start out bit if you work hard you can earn as much as you want.". So basically gangs are pyramid schemes.
