I fully support the legal and sensible open carry of firearms. I don’t personally open carry (I guess unless you count work…that’s pretty open carry) but I can respect people are aren’t jerks about it.

The reason I say that cops are Corrupt and Sadistic Is because that is the kind of people who gravitate to that kind of job. Granted some may not be as corrupt and sadistic as others. However the more corrupt and sadistic one is, the more they will be accepted as a cop, the better they will progress in their profession.
I think open carrying as a deterrent could work if a group of people do it. One person doing it alone just makes a criminal think "take him out first, and hey! Free gun!"

It's probably been 10 years at least since I carried and anytime I interacted with the police I always made sure they knew I was carrying. That way there were no surprises. I also have never had a problem identifying myself. I've learned that even though you may not have to legally, sometimes it's just better to answer all the questions. Most of the time I believe police are good and have a very stressful job. If I can help make my encounter less stressful then that's better for everyone involved. Pick your battles and which hill you choose to die on carefully. (Pun intended)
