Electric Scooter DUI: Lily Gets Locked Up – Everything Law and Order Blog

You may remember a few months back when I posted a multi-part series on Shelton Begay, the Native American dude with the dubious honor of being Tempe, Arizona’s first e-scooter DUI recipient. Well, Shelton is facing some serious competition: Lily Romero, winner of Albuquerque’s first-ever e-scooter DUI charge.

Similar to the series in which you met 99-Bananas-aficionado Begay, Romero’s story will be told over the course of two installments. Part I, shown here, covers the stop from initial contact up to Romero’s transport to the station. In Part II, we will pick up where this video leaves off, finishing Romero’s transport and heading straight to the BAC testing area at the station. Romero is then offered two opportunities to provide a breath sample as she continues to hurl creative insults at her arresting officer.

Meet Lily.

*Patreon supporters had early access to this video, and will have early access to Part II as well. I expect that a copy of Part II will be posted to Patreon within two hours of this video being posted, and will become publicly available on Thursday morning. Thank you!

  1. This is a bit unfair, not everybody can stand in one foot for this long even when not drunk, she's literally overweight and not atletic at all, this tests aren't perfect, I think the cop failed her on purpose because she was talking too much.

  2. Being polite, and kind, even if you’re faking it to a cop (while not coming off as passive lol) can get you a better outcome! Usually….!

  3. This cop was just bored, and had to make quota! Just give the girl a warning, advise her to get on the right side of the road, and keep it moving. Good grief 🤦🏻‍♀️

  4. Everyone in here saying it's crazy she got one is not considering the fact she was impeding traffic and on the wrong side of the road. A scooter vs car collision could have happened and she could have been hurt or died. For $0, she could have walked.

  5. …And so…😳
The police just LEFT the scooter there??!!…😱
    WOW!!…😱
I was ALWAYS Of the mindset that the police were…😁
    SUPPOSED TO **SERVE AND PROTECT**…😁
BOTH THE PUBLIC AND THE PUBLIC'S PERSONAL POSSESSIONS!!…😁
    WHAT HAPPENED TO THIS PHILOSOPHY??!!…🙄
    HMMMM??!!…🙄

  6. I don’t drink anymore, but I remember the time a few years ago when my crew went Birding all around the streets of downtown after bar close lol We were cruising! It was amazing! We often reminisce on that awesome, fun night! Not a care in the world! 😃 (Obligatory add: Don’t ride while drunk!)

  7. If anyone wanted an update, the DWI charges were dropped as part of a plea deal for disorderly conduct. Still charged for driving the wrong way on a one way street as well.

  8. Things not to say,, I find you so ridiculous right now, your so ridiculous, you live in fing New Mexico dude.

  9. omg , what is she going to do? stub someone's toe? leave her alone… my opinion is "the wrong direction of travel" is actually the correct and less dangerous direction of travel because both parties can see each other. regardless of the law, i will always ride my bike on the "wrong" side because i can see the cars coming and they can see me. it's safer, less of a timeframe for potential contact, and i don't want to die, especially when there aren't sidewalks.
