​@CopsConsTV obtained body worn camera footage from an incident involving an off duty Cuba Police (New Mexico) Police officer Brandon Barber crashing into another vehicle. Barber was also a member of the New Mexico National Guard.

According to investigators, Barber was driving the wrong way on the interstate when he crashed into the victims’ SUV. Officers said he smelled like alcohol, had blood-shot eyes, and was making odd statements. They also found a half empty handle of alcohol in his truck.

His dad, Felix Nunes, who is a Police Chief with Jemez Springs showed up to the scene to question investigators.

After his brief hospital stay he was booked into jail and had a pre trial detention hearing. He was released to his parents.

Barber was released to his parents pending the trial and is charged:
Homicide by vehicle (DWI)
Homicide by vehicle (DWI)
Great Bodily Harm by Vehicle (Driving While Under Influence of Intoxicating Liquor or Any Drug)
Open Container (Drink) (1st Offense)

  2. What is sad is that the drunk drivers always live but the innocent ppl always pass away or get hurt very bad. This si sad. 2 ppl lost their life. He never went to check on then nor asked about them. He was trying to get out of it. Smh

  3. This is how law enforcement treat their own. They get special treatment even though he just murdered two people in cold blood. Any one of us normal people would’ve been thrown to the ground and beat to death until backup arrived. Guilty until proven innocent. This idiot got to walk around all over the scene and tell his bullshit story to create a narrative. Fuck this dude. I hope he gets two life sentences. Watch him laugh and giggle while these people are fighting for their lives. Dude said HE GOT HIT HEAD ON and he’s crafting a bs narrative blaming it on the people he just killed. That’s a true piece of shit. The fact that his dad was allowed to come in scene and do all of this shit is mind blowing. The amount of corruption in our law enforcement sickens me. This entire thing makes me sick. Fuck all of these corrupt pieces of garbage. The fact that he’s playing the victim and it’s hours later when they take his blood infuriates me. He was clearly blackout drunk and probably on drugs. I hope they give this guy the death penalty just for being so heartless.

  4. They are not charging him for being in possession of a weapon during the act of a crime? His own father said he had weapons in the vehicle. He knowing got into his vehicle under the influence so he should be charged for committing a crime while in possession of a weapon. They would charge a regular citizen for they same thing.

  5. Father nows his son is going to state jail for this one. Alcohol will make you kill people unwillingly this is proof people don't consume it ever ever never.

  19. This could've been me so many times I've driven drunk for that I'm sorry, so grateful I didn't kill anyone or harmed 🙏 I am 5 years sober and counting! My life is so much better now thank god for sobriety!

  31. For all that don't know people who are drunk there bodies are more relaxed and not tense when the impact hits
    That's why most dwi drivers don't get serious injury

  35. Bet this wasnt the first time drinking and driving… and I bet he got a slap on the wrist or was cut a break before. This happens sloop often in police departments. They then take that as a free ticket to drive drunk whenever they want, and then this happens.
    Its crazy we live in a world where police get lighter sentences than the people they arrest for the same crime on average

  42. Dumb point, considering that he apparently caused a fatal crash, but crazy that he is doing the field sobriety tests. Even cops don't know to explicitly state they are exercising their right to remain silent and ask for a lawyer.
