Three people are in jail as part of an ongoing investigation that also spurred a shooting and high-speed chase that led to the partial evacuation of a Tyler hotel.

Smith County Sheriff’s deputies found guns, marijuana and controlled substances after stopping a 2014 Mazda passenger car at the intersection of Loop 323 and Highway 110 North on Monday night. The stop was initiated as part of a long-term investigation between the SCSO and the Drug Enforcement Agency, according to Sheriff Larry Smith.

The three occupants of the car were arrested and remain in the Smith County Jail.

  1. Richard Pineda was sentenced in 2018 to life in prison. Juan Quiroga, also present, got 50 years (think he was said to have been using an AK-47). Dunno bout the driver. They were on the way to "collect" money from someone to pay off Quiroga's meth bill. Figues.

  2. Aftermath:

Later Monday night, the SCSO attempted to stop a second vehicle, a Nissan Altima, but the suspects fled and began firing on the deputy's patrol vehicle. Neither the deputy nor his K-9 partner was injured. After a lengthy chase through the county, the vehicle got away.

The Altima was located Tuesday morning at the Residence Inn on Heritage Drive off of South Broadway Avenue in Tyler.

Tyler Police Department and SCSO activated their SWAT teams and began to partially evacuate the hotel, in order to ensure the safety of the guests.

Jeremy Allen Robinson, 31, of Hutchins, was taken into custody without incident as he was attempting to leave the hotel.

Robinson is being held at the Smith County Jail on a $2 million bond.

  3. It's so funny (not really) how these Cop haters avoid these videos on youtube??? Cop haters only go after those cop videos showing the "few" bad apple cops not doing what they're suppose to be doing and then brain wash themselves by thinking that "all" cops are bad bc of a few dirty cops. What a sad world we live in.

  4. Need part 2! too short. was hoping to see them crash and burn in the car fire as the cop watches from a safe distance.
