Yes officers should have to record at all times. These are people who are regular people given guns that are and do legally take lives away just for the perception of fear. Just like civilians, officers do commit crimes. Only time to take the off the body should be in the bathroom.

I can't help but to keep thinking that somewhere in the process of converting the regular car to a police car that the electrics that alert the driver that a rear door is ajar were eliminated and regarded as not necessary.
Regardless, it seems to me the most likely scenario was the door was not closed at all. Even if the only the first stage of the latch was engaged it would be very very unlikely for the door to pop open with pressure alone.
I realize that police cars undergo a variety of depth in regards to prisoner transport conversions, and while it may be a genuine mistake or oversight, it is going to be next to impossible for this department to overcome any claims of negligence.
The bottom line will be the driver should not have any excuse for not knowing a rear door wasn't fully latched from the drivers seat.
Im also left wondering, even if the safety system to warn the driver was compromised due to a police car conversion, will the whole "qualified immunity" thing play a part in accountability.

I feel completely different about the Taylor case now that you explained that the investigation unit we’re not the ones the executed the warrant however it was executed in good faith by other officers. I feel completely different now. I probably would have used deadly for a to save myself out of natural reaction in that situation. It is crazy how we as Americans take the medias spin on situations as the absolute truth. We need to spread the message about how important due diligence is , even with the media!!!! Check the facts yourself before making judgement. It is more important than most realize.

It would’ve been closed far enough to not have shown on the dash warning or the officer would’ve seen it.
