The problem is they made this a big deal. If they had just let it go, most people wouldn't have given it a second thought! The world is too damn sensitive these days. Some people have nothing better to do than sit, watch and bitch about every little thing. These cops did nothing wrong! They simply made a sign that has been around for years. They should have been asked what, exactly, did they mean by it when they used it. This whole thing is ridiculous!

I'm 41 years old and I had never heard of this game until earlier this year. I guess that's because I was never one of the cool kids in school. I also know nothing about whether or not it has any gang or racist connotations. I think the "game", as I understand it, is childish and stupid. Maybe that photo wasn't the right place or time, but unless it really is a racists thing, I see no reason for a suspension. If it's just a kids game, it was maybe unprofessional enough for them to get told not to do that anymore. That's probably as far as this should've gone.

Watch the movie Mississippi burning. In that movie that I believe is some what a true story the cops there made a similar gesture that the FBI character played by Gene Hackman says that it was the symbol for KKK not sure if that was ever the case but it was in a movie
Retired Navy, pro-LE.. ehhh, it was unprofessional given it WAS the Mayor. Only discipline I think they should have apologized in person and left it at that. Move on.
