Moreno Valley, California — On Monday, February 6, 2023, at 12:31 PM, deputies responded to the 25400 block of Filaree Avenue in Moreno Valley reference a mentally disturbed subject. The female reported her 33-year-old son, Jesus Antonio Rodriguez, who is diagnosed with schizophrenia, was under the influence of an unknown substance and being aggressive towards her. When deputies arrived, Rodriguez ran to his bedroom and started yelling at them from the doorway. Deputies attempted to deescalate the situation, but he continued being aggressive and uncooperative. Rodriguez grabbed a baseball bat with sharp metal spikes on the end. Deputies deployed a taser twice, but it was ineffective. Rodriguez advanced towards the deputies and a deputy-involved shooting occurred. Lifesaving measures were taken by deputies and then paramedics, but Rodriguez was pronounced deceased at the scene.

  1. Fat criminal shot dead, and everybody feels sorry for him. Under these circumstances, he got what he deserved.

  2. It is tragic that the mother made the call that ultimately led to her son's demise, but her son made choices that escalated the situation into what it had become. Mental health issues and self medicating never go well together.

  3. I was about to say damn that guy could have made a career out of prop making when I saw his club. Then I realized the beautiful wood choice/staining colors were actually just his own blood lmfao 😂

  4. I think getting everybody out of the house and just leaving him in there by himself for a while might have been a better option. If there's nobody around for him to harm, there's no reason to harm him.

  5. Let’s not dismiss the fact that this guy was altered from substance (his choice) & having contaminated thinking from mental health issues. The cops did what they could but made the right call. 💯
