Reno, Nevada — On November 5th, 2021, at approximately 10:40pm, Reno Police Department patrol officers were involved in an Officer Involved Shooting in the 200 block of E Grove Street. Officers arrived on scene at an apartment on E Grove Street on the report of a domestic disturbance with what sounded like a male and female screaming, and possible shots fired. Uniformed officers knocked on the door, the door opened, and suspect Isaiah Herndon pointed a handgun in the general direction of the officers, firing at least one round at them. The two officers returned fire striking Herndon multiple times. Officers on scene provided medical aid to Herndon until medics arrived and transported him to Renown Medical Center. Herndon underwent surgery at the hospital and is in critical condition. On November 17th, Herndon was formally charged with two counts of Assault with a Deadly Weapon on a Protected Person, and Own/Possess Firearm by a Prohibited Person.

  1. Those officers obviously failed their gun safety class. Even though you could say they weren't directly pointing the gun at each other, but any one of those bullets could ricochet.

  2. I think the officer induced a malfunction from panicking… there was absolutely no reason for him to gently pull the slide back on his pistol, it already had a fresh round in the chamber when he pulled on the slide… then he accidentally dropped the mag.. I'm not picking on the guy, that had to be scary as hell.

  3. Love how he thought he was a bad ass until he got shot. I’m down I’m hit I’m sorry😆Humor aside at least he’s trying to compromise.

  4. God Bless ALL the men and women who go willingly into situations like this.. Thank you for your service to your community.. 🙏❤🇺🇸

  5. I'm sure at least some of those rounds hit the dry wall inside that room. Would be scary to be the next room over

  6. Watching that second officer accidentally eject his magazine is an interesting counterpoint to the officer in the last video that couldn't manage to get his magazine out – there is definitely a fine line between a mag release that is easy to use and one that is too easy to hit accidentally.

  7. Lol good thing the 2nd clip showed him clear the jam and eject his magazine accidentally at the same time. Those walls looked pretty thick and the potential crossfire could've been deadly for either officer.

  8. Dangerous approach. I hoped the officers would have been single-file; hand on shoulder from behind; eliminating the crossfire, which happened instantaneously. Hope the felon caught some lead !

  9. The shooter yelled….I'm hit ,, yeah "….that is what happens when you point a gun at an officer. Dangerous job these officers have.
