Fresno, California — On Thursday, May 19, 2022, at 11:22 A.M., officers from the Central Policing District were dispatched to 1705 West Cortland Avenue for a call of a violation of a restraining order. The reporting party (the suspect’s mother) advised dispatch that her son, 27-year-old Austin Flores, violated a restraining order and was currently in the residence’s backyard, inside a vehicle.

Before officers arrived, the suspect’s mother told dispatch Flores had brandished a firearm and told her he was ready if the police came for him. Officers arrived and established a perimeter around the house. Flores became aware of the officer’s presence, fled the vehicle he was in, and pointed what an officer believed to be a firearm at him. The officer fired his service handgun, striking Flores. Flores was transported to a nearby hospital but died of his wounds. Officers later determined that Flores was holding a replica gun.

  1. "It's fake !" … "what ?" … "it's fake." … "Oh well, mines real. GIT on the floor !" <- Officer Iwishamofo Wood

  2. Mom said he was in possession of a large black revolver……he was carrying to all intents and purposes a silver semi automatic pistol.
The Police had every right to act as if this were a live firearm.

  3. & let this be a valuable lesson about law enforcement.

understand an object of any kind pointed at us will be perceived as a 0% joke or game to play in hell with the us navy, clairo & i? we’re on tour having pizza huggin and kissin and heard this then stopped the whole show.

  4. As Mike Glover says stop using sul when you’re in this position. You should have your gun raised ready to shoot where your eyes are looking. That half a second it took to raise to the firing position could have cost him his life. Law enforcement officers please stop reverting to sul and ask for better training from your department.

  5. Some police officers value their own life more than others, they have to make sure the suspect is down and unable to hurt them. Pretty much the lesser officers are the one that shoot to kill in fear of their own life. There are too far few officers who are truly capable to serve and protect. For now justice is the same thing as killing.

  6. They want to kill this guy otherwise they would have released the dog 🐕 mama wants them to kill him to he has become worthless to her he has no job so…..the cops are going oblige her and kill him if they can 😡🤬🤓😏

  7. Another happy ending 🙂 I mean, it's sad and it's fucked up for everyone involved but it is also the best solution.

  8. They shot 9 times and killed a drunk son with a NERF gun.
I hope his mother is happy now
If you have family problems, NEVER call cops because it always ends like this.

  9. Read the description, knew he was killed by police. I was just waiting got the dog to run in. He was ready to bite someone

  10. Even though they were told it was fake you would never know in the moment if it was or wasn't, the mom could've been mistaken or lying, plus the suspect was given plenty chance to surrender. Still a tragic thing to witness.
