Riverview, Florida — The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office released the body-worn camera video of a deputy-involved shooting that took place Tuesday night, December 8, 2020, in Riverview. Dylan Scott, 27, who was wanted on outstanding warrants for grand theft and resisting arrest, was fatally shot when he repeatedly ignored commands to show his hands after telling deputies he had a firearm on his waistband, which you can hear him say at 2:48 into the body-camera video. Scott motioned for a gun just before deputies fired gunshots. “The body-worn camera video shows the more than three minutes our deputies begged and pleaded with Dylan Scott as they tried to de-escalate the situation last night,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister.

“In any given situation, I never want it to end with someone losing their life. Our deputies did all they could to try to end last night’s events peacefully, and for the sake of transparency, I believe this video shows that effort.” An officer safety alert in reference to Scott was issued to Tampa Bay area law enforcement on July 29, 2020. Scott’s mother called HCSO when he left a note at her home claiming he wanted to die via suicide by cop. FDLE, who is investigating the incident, has confirmed that no firearm was located in Scott’s vehicle at the time of the shooting.

  1. Officer saying don't reach for the gun 100 of times
    Suspect: reaches for the gun
    Officer: 👁️👄👁️

  2. He didn’t had any gun. He just wanted to die anyway. I bit he had a bad day cuz of woman

  3. It's no wonder some cops, after 5, 10 or 20 years on the force, go hard. An officer can only beg so many times with so many perps until they stop giving a shit about the self destructive criminals on the streets.

Eventually you get to a stage of, "protect me and my own. At the end of the shift, go home."

I feel for so many cops that have lost the ability to feel for themselves.

I'm an atheist, but God bless the good ones.

  4. Great job by the police. That guy was given every opportunity, but sometimes the criminal knows it's better to have the cops kill them so they are not hurting people on this earth anymore.

  5. Justified shooting…very sad though and I give BIG respect to that officer for trying over and over to reason with that disturbed man. It's ashame he had to empty his gun on him along with the other cop on other side. Tragic ending but he did it to himself.

  6. Dude wanted to commit suicide by cop and these cops knew it. "Please don't make me do this." I mean, he could have tried his taser, but when the suspect is armed with a gun, that's a risky choice.

  7. Warrants for grand theft and resisting arrest. That’s nothing man. 27 and gone just like that for grand theft and resisting. Not worth it.

  8. These officers that serve us are put in impossible situations and have to live with the trauma afterwards. This officer did all he could but the perp gets a vote in how things go.

  9. Que tienen en la cabeza no logro entenderlo.
    👏👏👮‍♂️👮‍♀️
