Washington, D.C. — On Friday, October 22, 2021, in the 500 block of Kennedy Street, Northwest, at approximately 4:45 pm, uniformed members of the Fourth District were flagged down in reference to a male suspect with a handgun chasing another male at the listed location. Responding officers located the suspect and as the officers engaged the suspect, one of the officers felt a handgun that was concealed in the suspect’s waistband. A struggle ensued and the suspect was able to flee from the officers. The suspect entered a vehicle and as officers attempted to remove the suspect from the vehicle, the suspect started driving the vehicle with one of the officers still inside of the vehicle. As the vehicle started driving away, two officers outside of the vehicle were thrown to the ground. The suspect then drove approximately two city blocks with the third officer inside of the vehicle.

The officer voiced numerous commands for the suspect to stop the vehicle and the suspect did not comply. The officer discharged his service weapon, striking the suspect. The officer exited the moving vehicle and fell into the roadway. The suspect then fled the scene in the vehicle. Two injured officers were transported to local hospitals for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, and a third sustained minor injuries that did not require emergency medical treatment. The suspect was located at a local hospital receiving treatment for non-life threatening injuries. On Friday, October 22, 2021, 35 year-old Natango Robinson, of Southeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Felony Assault on a Police Officer While Armed, Kidnapping While Armed, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Resisting Arrest, Fleeing a Law Enforcement Officer, Failure to Obey, and Reckless Driving.

  1. I’m not sure about police protocol. But a head shot would have been justifiable once the person drove off with the cop in the back seat.

  2. Can you imagine a cop screaming STOP THE CAR while a gun is to your head…. And you say Brah dont shoot me… It saddens me this pos is going to Live… That cop should have shot like 5 times or more…. Now we pay his hospital bills and his Life long stay in the big house….

  3. Suspect: "I'm sorry officer, what is it exactly you want me to do?"
Officer: "I'm trying to find another way of saying it, but basically I want you to put the car in park."

  4. My heart goes out to that officer. The shear fear in his voice and that scream of adrenaline at the end spiked my anxiety for him. I hope he has a good physical recovery and mental recovery.

  5. Dumb …..Don’t shoot, ain’t doing nothing………(I can’t breath) key words
Cop……. Stop 🛑 the car, sTOOp the car, STOP, stop, SToP ✋ , please ???
I thinking hear a please.stop before the well deserved bang
Dumb….keeps driving while saying “ain’t doing nothing” and ……..keeps on going
Something is not right, They KNOW…….. Cops KNOws …… they(the criminals) know that the cops knows…. I know… do you know?

  6. Although the shooting was 100% justified, i believe the fear of the situation was overpowering the officers decision making leading him to jump out of the vehicle like that. He was safer staying in the car and shooting the guy till he stopped. I get combat is crazy but the number one rule is "DO NOT PANIC".

  7. One mistake, if you’re going to shoot once you might as well unload the clip then duck behind the seat. The suspect was using a deadly weapon on the officer, which was his vehicle. Technically he should be room temperature.

  8. I woulda gave him a 3 2 1 countdown like he was a kid. “ if you do not stop the car I’m going to shoot you. 3. 2. 1.” You know what comes next. Brain on dash.

  9. But why did the officer jump from the moving car…yet he had neutralized the the threat..A lead through the brains would have served him well than shooting thBye damn thighs.

  10. Okay so for some reason the last 20 vids dont show the description. Where can I read it? And did the suspect survive the shot? Also, what were the officers injuries since he looked pretty hurt… If anyone can inform me please.

  11. He could have mentioned "Or I'm going to shoot you." Not saying it would have made a difference, but his lawyer will say that it would have.

  12. Well, he stopped the car and told him to get out… but then the cop stayed and said put it in park and got scared when he started driving again.

  13. Very lucky guy. Some of us would have got off a mag dump and a few to the head as soon as he took off !!! Not sure when it became ok to disobey a direct order from a police officer.
