Sunday night, around 8:40 p.m. Officer Aaron “Gary” Williams, Officer Matthew Robertson, and Officer Daniel Russell went to the Ridgeway Apartment complex on Poplar St. in an attempt to locate a person with active warrants. While searching for their suspect, neighbor Genise Beasley returned home and found her apartment was filled with smoke.

“I didn’t even smell it, nothing, I just heard the smoke detector going off and I keyed in and that’s when the smoke hit me and I came back out with my kids, I didn’t even make it in there,” Beasley said.

She called for the officers and they rushed inside.

Minutes later, they pulled out Beasley’s father, who was unresponsive on the couch.

“We didn’t know how long he had been in there, how much he inhaled, it was scary,” Beasley said.

Beasley didn’t think anyone was home and even told the officers her apartment was empty, but two of them went inside anyway.

The fire started from food left cooking on the stove.

“He remembered that he left the steak on the stove and fell asleep,” Beasley said, “And after that I don’t know what it was, they said he wouldn’t respond to them so that’s what made him go to the emergency room.”

Chief Fletcher said his officers were at the right place at the right time and they didn’t think twice about risking their own lives to save others.

“These were officers who were actually looking for a bad guy and they were trying to serve a warrant, and while that was happening they realized that there was a fire and somebody was in danger,” Chief Fletcher said.

Officers Williams and Russell were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.

Beasley’s father, Mr. Terry Bonds, was taken to the hospital for treatment and released on Monday. He is expected to make a full recovery.

“I thank them so much for that, I do. They was a hero last night,” Beasley said.

  1. Wtf the cop needs to be arrested!! He clearly framed him but setting the place on fire and then pretending to save him.

  2. Holy fuck. I've heard of this happening before but never seen it I bet it's like when you're falling out of sleep, in twilight where you can hear your surroundings only you can never gain full consciousness. Scary.

  3. IF IT WERE A BLACK MAN, THE COPS WOULDN'T HAVE SAVED HIM! Oh, wait. BET THEY TOSSED HIM BACK IN THE APARTMENT AND BLOCKADED THE DOORS!!!!!

  4. Why the fuck is there 6 dislikes, no fucking abuse or any of that shit, only help. But some dumb fuckers think there is something wrong with it.

  5. See we need more news like this instead of news pieces that further divides and brings more hate to this country.

  6. They are paid to protect and serve. As of Now I'm attending police academy myself. The job description of a cop is to serve and protect the people. He's doing what he is paid for, or should he leave the man in the burning apartment so this video shows nothing but a cop doing his supposed job. How about the the black guy who was shot for running away from the cop to evade capture he wasn't causing the cop no harm just a bit of physical exercise and he shot the man, then in an attempt to cover up he rearranged the bullets, but was unaware he was being recorded. Or how about the young boy tamir rice who was shot for wielding a fake gun. The kid wasnt even given a chance or a warning the cop just hopped out the car guns blazing. And lets not pull the card oh it could of been real, because I've seen a lot of white kids some older than the age of 12 wielding fake guns pointing them at people. Nothing happened, but the young man wasn't even given a warning. And lemme tell you my uncle has been a law enforcement officer for 10+ years then was moved into detective work. and thats not how the situation is to be handled. So rethink your ignorant comment.
