On Sunday, November 20, 2016 at 02:20 am, Officer Chad Carter responded to a crash in the 500 block of North Nolan River Road. In the rescue caught on camera, Officer Carter immediately tries to put out the fire and get the driver out of the vehicle. “When Officer Carter determined the driver was not getting out of the car, [he] entered the car and was eventually able to remove the driver,” the police department said. The driver was rescued and taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Now Officer Carter is being honored as a hero. “Officer Carter’s actions demonstrate that there’s more to being a police officer than writing tickets and making arrests. Officer Carter put himself in danger to save the life of a citizen. All of our officers take an oath to serve and protect the citizens of Cleburne, and on Sunday morning, Officer Carter did just that,” the department said.

  1. This is my husband he was not drunk really messed up from the wreck he hit the sign and I'm sure rolled and flipped a few times I don't appreciate some of these comments it's rude

  2. Teachers, firemen, and police are the most important jobs in my opinion. These guys should have ridiculous salaries in my book. All the crap they go through and risks they take, very well merits a good $65-70,000 a year. I don’t mess around with police. They keep me safe so I can go in my 3 am jogs at night. So thank you.

  3. Balls.
I would honestly be too scared to even go back and try to put that fire out like he did.
I love this cop for having the balls also to save that guys life. I also LOVE cops.
